Installation and Upgrades / Re: Zentyal 4.0 Community Edition

This sounds to me like your mail does not know where to send out the mail, check your outgoing port on your firewall.
Are you using a smart host to send out e-mail?

I have installed the latest version last night and the following is still outstanding

2. Calendar Sharing does not work
3. Out of Office does not sync properly to server

Guys we can not sell a defective product to clients.

Just wondering if this will be an addon for the future? I am currently using Pile to do my mail archiving.

I have been testing the 4.0 daily for the past couple of weeks and found that the major issues is still in play, the auto inbox refresh is not working and the out of office is giving errors.

I have left 3.4 behind, but I will emulate it this weekend at home and be in contact.

Installation and Upgrades / DNS issue
« on: July 04, 2014, 05:57:31 pm »
Scenario:
SRV01
DC/DNS/POSTFIX/DOVECOT/WEBMail
SRV02
DC/DNS

SRV01 is the mail server and domain controller, SRV02 is also a domain controller, in my IP setup SRV01 is primary DNS and SRV02 is secondary DNS.
All Windows PC's join the domain without any problems and internet and e-mail is working 100%, I can ping all servers and PC's on local lan using FQDNs. But when I do an nslookup my server state shows up as unknown, but it does show the IP of SRV01 as DNS.

How do I go about fixing this?

Create the Certificate on your Zentyal and import it under Trusted Root > Certification on your Windows Machine the try the autodiscover again in setup, it's gonna give you an error but after you click yes it should auto complete the details. :)

Installation and Upgrades / Re: VPN installation on VPS

OK your Zentyal server you say you can not install the VPN Server? You will need two interfaces one configured with your public Static IP and one internal that connects to your lan.

Have you got a static IP on the outside you can forward to the internal port of that server?

Explain the VPS to me first I might be able to shed some light on this for you.

There is no way to that via the web interface, what I do is logon with the domain admin and map the root drive, from there I manage the subdirectories NTFS permission wise.
I hope this helps.  8)

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Login Issues through web interface

Can you login to the console of your Ubuntu install with your root user and password?
If so add another user with:

sudo adduser "username" sudo

Provide a password and try to access the login with that username and password.

But best practice would be to rather install the Zentyal via the ISO/DVD

I emulated your scenario last night and I had no problems with the setup as you have described. I ran into on small issue where the two DC's could not ping each other via either the networking tools or terminal window, this is easily fixable with the following:

sudo chmod 4557 /bin/ping

You have to do this on both servers before joining the second server to the domain.

Let me know if you need some help and I can assist with Teamviewer if you want. :D

Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal additional Exchange

Something to look at.  ;D
I setup SRV01 as DC with Openchange (First One) and Active Sync - works very good except for the usual suspects.
Then I setup SRV02 as DC with Openchange (Second One) - I can login on the Openchange with the domain credentials but the mail that is on the other Openchange (SRV01) does not show up, so the two Openchange servers do not sync folders between each other.
I have tested it twice on another set of VM's using VMWare as well, same issue.

If anyone can give me some insight into how we can sync the the two Openchange servers it would be great!

Something went wrong with your Samba install, I suggest you remove the Samba module and re-install it. I have a site running off these servers and have not had a single downtime of failure in any of the modules. Although I have not implemented Openchange as yet until all it's bugs have been resolved.

Better yet, skit 3.4 and go to 3.5, I have installed it last night on a VM and it is very smooth, even got active sync to work.
