Hello!
We just got the following message regarding installing eBox as a linux file share / e-mail server. Could you be so kind and help Shannon out? Thank you in advance! BR, Heidi
I just installed ebox to use as a linux file share / email server. First off, I can connect via an outside computer to access the html interface, however I can not connect to the server in the manner described in the how to's. Second, I keep getting a message that says "To run ddclient as daemon, please set run_daemon to 'true' in /etc/default/ddclient" what does this mean, and how do I go about that? I am a severe novice!!!!

Hello,
I'm trying to implement Ebox in the field and am having trouble creating the following senary: When I create a user in the web interface, I want to set up a folder with his name in the network (for exemple in a share), in addition to its homeDirectory. I've been chage some files but not discover what is needed and whitch one I must change.
I hope you have noticed my problem and can help me.

I have stalled eBox ver 1.2.1 and have update to lastest. in Groupware -> Default Applications I have enabled all Application including Tracker, but I cannot find Tracker anywhere.
How can I use Tracker.

Me interesa E-box, sin embargo al querer instalar la versión 1.0 me tuve problemas con drivers al instalarlo, el DVD sata y el Disco Duro sata primordialmente, mi pregunta es respecto a si en la nueva versión esta dificultad está solucionada.
Estuve trabajando con la versión de ubuntu server 9.04 y no tuve problema alguno, la nueva versión está basada en 9.04?

Installation and Upgrades / Problem with the ISO download

I have downloaded the iso twice from your website, I first burnt the iso to cd and ran it in a clean machine, unfortunatly when I ran the MD5 I got an error that they didn't match. I then downloaded it again and this time run the iso in a VM Wares VM and checked the ISO with the same error.
Is this just a bad download ie cache somewhere on my ISPs server or is there a greater problem with the code being changed?

We just got the following questions regarding eBox. Could you please answer and share the information with everybody? Thank you again! BR, Heidi
Currently Untangle is used as a security gateway for the network. The solution is adequate but we are dissatisfied with the accuracy of the spam detection, hence the testing of ebox.
Ebox is a little more demanding in the setup process however we have a test setup running with 2 issues:
1: When the transparent pop filter is enabled we are not able to download any mail. Sending is not an issue.
2: We also access a java based currency and share streamer, Xtend. The screen is produced OK but no data.

Please develop something so that we can use global address book like MS Exchange server which should be automatically taken from LDAP users database. Please also consider to develop some schema and way out for horde framework to work with ebox. Need urgent support for addressbook.

We've received a message from Darren, asking if the following features are supported in eBox Platform. I'd very much appreciate if you could answer him and we could share the information with everybody else who might be interested. I'll re-direct him here. Thank you in advance!
We want to know if the following features are supported:
1) Integration with active directory. We want to be able to limit access by windows active directory users and groups in our existing domain controller (not the one built into ebox)
2) User-based content filtering. For each user, we want to be able to restrict them to a list of websites that they can go on, and deny all others
Please advise if these solutions are possible with the ebox system

Me gustaria haceros una pregunta. Por ejemplo, veo que en un usuario no se le pueden cambiar todas las propiedades de un dominio como por ejemplo pwdMustChange, pwdCanChange, etc...
Teneis pensado en un futuro proximo implementarlo? o hay por ahi algun
modulo que ya lo haga?

i wanted to ask you a few things about your ebox product
1) is there a jaunty (ubuntu 9.x) ready edition yet?
2) you say you have made the live disk with remastersys, so is your iso multi bootable and installable via the menu like a standard remastersys'd ubuntu/debian disk?
3) i heard of this product by accident really, but i wander what is ebox compared to in microsoft kind of way e.g a nt4 server, 2000 server, 2003 server, 2008 server etc etc?
and last but not least
4) more of a suggestion really, what about combining both the manual install and the live disk as one as a seperate iso, like ubuntu does for thier dvd versions?
