Other modules / DHCP with FQDM reverse lookup?

Hello,
Sorry if this is easy, but I can't find the answer and I'm not much of an IT guy.

So, is there way for DHCP clients to register dynamically with the DNS and get FQDM reverse lookups?
I can ping by host name only, but not by FQDM.
If someone could share or point me to some details, I would appreciate it.

After several unsuccessful installations I decided to go this route:
https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/zentyal.html

I just replaced all version numbers with 5.0.  Installed perfectly.

Installed Zentyal 5 as a VM on Proxmox 5.  I've tried several different VM settings, but I continuously get "starting hold until boot process finishes up" when it tries to boot across sever different VM instances.  I saw an similar post from back in March, but no real fix.  Any ideas?
