Title: Dell Optiplex 780

Hi everyone
im trying to install ebox-platform 1.4 on optiplex 780 but it never work  dunno is it because it couldn't detect the network driver or it just can't work on this machine!!!!
i tried instlling ubuntu server 10.4 and then installed ebox-platform 1.5 and then when i login to ebox page from another PC and try to change on the users and groups modul it fails everytime..im too eager to get it work on this machine i really appreciate any help guys

I have the same issue, I don't know what to do.
I've installed another linux distro, Virtualbox, installed it on a Virtualbox machine.
but I'm not convinced. ???

try to install the network driver from the intel's website http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=15817

I have problems with the installation of such driver, the kernel thing.
Is there any guide other than the one on the driver's page.

download the file to your home directory and then:
1. tar zxf e1000e-x.x.x.tar.gz
2. cd e1000e-x.x.x/src/
3. make install
the driver will be installed in /lib/modules/*KERNEL VERSION*/kernel/drivers/net/e1000e/e1000e.ko
4. modprobe e1000e *or* insmod /lib/modules/<KERNEL VERSION>/kernel/drivers/net/e1000e/e1000e.ko
5. restart the machine
