Installation and Upgrades / Re: Backup Error after Full Backup
« on: June 09, 2009, 02:14:18 pm »
Thanks Javier...
Sorry for the late reply.
I'll see what I can do about this issue. Right now we stopped all backups over our ebox installation until we choose the right way to do it.
Your reply is very useful..

Thanks for the advise !!!!
When I tried to access the Backup through the webinterface the system get stuck.
And when trying to generate a new backup what we got is this:
Some error has happend in eBox:
root command /bin/tar -cf /var/lib/ebox/conf//backup.1k0kL0/aux/samba.bak/profiles.tgz --bzip2 --atime-preserve
--absolute-names --preserve --same-owner /home/samba/profiles failed. Error output
Can anyone tell me where the backup files are stored ? I couldn't find them in order to exclude them on the terminal.
Thanks.

Installation and Upgrades / Backup Error after Full Backup
« on: May 26, 2009, 08:43:04 pm »
Hello everybody:
We are using Ebox successfully in a large number of customers here in Brazil.
It's a wonderful linux distribution.
The only problem we detected is that after trying a full backup the backup utility is stuck. Now we are unable to perform the configuration backup neither.
I am willing to correct this error by deleting the files by hand. I think that /var/lib/ebox/backups is the right place.
What will happen if I delete them ? Should I restart ebox ? Is this the right choice to fix the problem. There is a 4GB file created when I tried a full backup.
Thanks for any help.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: apt-get error

In fact, your help really worked !!! The only thing I did is to stop the firewall at all and now I see the the new updates (firewall, and so on) being installed.
The official repository I used successfully is:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ebox/ubuntu hardy main
Thanks for your help.
Klaus
I had a similar problem with various repositories.
The only way I could get it to work was to setup a service with tcp destination port 11371 enabled. Then I setup to the firewall to allow my server and internal machines to access this service/port.
Then I followed this to update the key:
.......................................
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-587936.html
gpg --keyserver hkp://subkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys $GPGKEY
gpg --export --armor $GPGKEY | sudo apt-key add -
You need to replace $GPGKEY with the key in the error message

Hello everybody...
I have the same problem. I found many topics on this forum about this problem and none of them really help.
After finishing a ebox installation using the CD I would like to upgrade the firewall (which is 1.0.0 and there is a 1.0.3 version available).
I hope someone knows a solution to this problem.
