Installation and Upgrades / Re: [SOLVED] OpenVPN retreive pop3 mail - How?
« on: July 15, 2010, 09:27:43 am »Hi dzingis,
Are you trying to access POP3 server using the VPN address? If so, you have to access using the internal network address to make it work transparently and without adding rules to the firewall.
Best,
Sorry but I don't follow you well
Yes, I'm trying to to access POP3 server (with Microsoft Outlook) using the VPN address.
What do you mean with "internal network address" ? Is there a place that I declare VPN address range as internal network range?
Can you please explain me a bit more?
Here is scenario.
Internal network 192.168.1.0/24
VPN 192.168.160.0/24
When I connect using VPN I see (without rules added) that firewall is dropping packets from VPN range on ports 25 and 110.
Regards
[Edit]
After I posted bulb lighted in my head
You mean that VPN range should be 192.168.1.0/24 also?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Software RAID?
« on: July 12, 2010, 05:42:03 pm »so, if i understand you right, there´s no possibility of creating/managing raid´s through the webinterface?
No it's not possible. Everything is done with CLI. Only thing in webinterface you can do is to monitor/log raid.

It is treated as an internal network. However, the problem may come from POP server which is not able to route the packets back from VPN.
Best,
Sorry sixstone but is treated as external network.
When I putted rule for VPN range in Firewall rules for external networks, everything works fine.

« on: June 29, 2010, 09:57:14 pm »
Here is an update.
When I deleted range, and manually stopped DHCP service after restart it didn't came up.
With range after restart DHCP came up.
So this looks to me as bug.

Hi Oceanwatcher,
dasboard says it's 1.4.3 core version
I'm off site now and connecting using VPN, so I can't play with it (it's server in production).
Tomorrow I'll be on site and see what is really going on.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: DCHP disabled but giving adresses !?!
« on: June 28, 2010, 12:05:13 pm »Did you enable the module with eBox?
If so, then enable/disable again. If not, just stop standard service through /etc/init.d.
Best,
Thx sixstone for your answer.
I can stop it through /etc/init.d, but I think this is bug in Administration UI.
I was testing something with DHCP, and created a range. After that decided not to use it and disabled DHCP but I didn't deleted a range. After that DHCP can only manually be stopped.
I'll try today to delete range and see what is going on.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: eBox 1.4.2 installed - It's asking password for eBox administration.
« on: June 21, 2010, 11:32:03 am »but it asked to create another user / p/w, which I did accordingly.
Ebox installation never asked you to create user. Only thing you were asked was to create password for Ebox administration.
What modules you installed?
My suggestion to you is to install it again. It only takes hour or two and you'll learn a lot.

If you installed "upgraded" Ubuntu server to Ebox than I can't help you, I never did it that way
But if you did installation from Ebox ISO only thing you were asked at the end of the installation is to enter password for the Administration of Ebox. That is not sudo password fo Ubuntu server. Those two things are completely different.
My suggestion is, if you haven't done it that way, to install Ebox from ISO.

I've installed VMware server (It's free also)
It worked fine.
You can see here
http://forum.ebox-platform.com/index.php?topic=3867.0
and here
http://forum.ebox-platform.com/index.php?topic=2464.0
To allow access to VMware server from network you need to add rules in firewall for ports 8222 and 8333

Anyway I can solve it? Firewals and IPtables are just not my field.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Multiple connections
« on: June 08, 2010, 11:28:59 am »If you are using XP, and first mapping is done with server name, second can be done using IP address and vice versa.
for third share I don't know. What might solve your problem is to add different hostnames for the same IP address in hosts file on your local system (never tried but sounds logical)

« on: June 08, 2010, 11:09:11 am »
I think that I now what is may problem but I'm not sure how to fix it.
I have working VPN with few road warriors. Mail client is M.Ooutlook 2007 and everything is working fine when are they on site.
When they connect using VPN mail retrieving doesn't work.
I tried to telnet server on port 110 but I'm getting error.
I assume that firewall is blocking port 110 for VPN.
Where and what rule should I add to make it work?
How is VPN connection treated on firewall side? (as internal to Ebox?, or external to Ebox?)

Installation and Upgrades / Re: error in access to egroupware users
« on: June 01, 2010, 10:02:06 am »I'm not use any setup, im install this from ebox instalation disk.
that is what I'm asking. name of the e-mail domain during setup.
Quote
I'm go to http://192.168.1.2:81/egroupware/setup/index.php for access to administration but don't have a valid user.
How I can add admin user from shell to egroupware?
The ebox developers will say to you that you don't need to do anything in setup mode of eGw, and that is truth . But if you are 100% sure you can read
http://doc.ebox-platform.com/en/groupware.html#groupware-service-settings-with-ebox
There you will find all info you need.
My suggestion for you is just to reinstall ebox. From reinstalling and seting up you will learn the most.
