Installation and Upgrades / Impossible to add an email account?
« on: November 21, 2014, 06:12:42 pm »
This is odd, but when you have several Virtual Mail Domains with a parent relationship (e.g. test.com and service01.test.com), you can't add an email address to your users : it states no VMD exists. Is this normal?

Installation and Upgrades / Questions about the DNS component
« on: November 21, 2014, 02:03:00 pm »
Hi there,

here are a few questions about the DNS part of Zentyal (4.0). I'm currently running a bunch of tests to check whether we could use it or not. And as far as it goes, it looks promising. Regarding my (current) setup, we're talking about two Z4.0, one acting as the main DC (DC01), the other (DC02) being a backup DC. Everything looks fine between them, and users/computers changes are synced perfectly. OpenChange is provisionned on DC01, with its own domain (NOT the AD domain). As suggested by the OpenChange component, I added the aforementioned domain in DNS on DC01, alongside the AD domain.

First of all, I do notice some weird entries in DC01's logs ever since, stating that

Code: [Select]
_reverseData - Inconsistent DNS configuration detected. IP group 2.168.192 is already mapped to domain my-openchange-domain.net. The host dc01.ad.domain.net with IP 192.168.2.50 is not going to be added to that group.
Is it problematic? Should I expect trouble here? This line doesn't appear on DC02, but since it only has the domain.net zone, it's not very surprising. But it brings me to the second point :

How normal behaviour is it that zones aren't synced between DCs? Neither newly defined zones nor records in the domain's zone. Is it normal? Note that I wouldn't mind that much syncing things by hand, I just want to be sure my own sync process won't mess with the intended one. And that the non-syncing of DNS configs isn't revealing some deeper issue on my own setup.

Thanks for any answer on one issue or the other.
