Installation and Upgrades / Installation stalls every time at unpacking Zentyal mail

Really bad experience.
First try died, and at reboot I could get nowhere with the install/configuration screen totally hosed as _nothing_ had been installed, unpacked or configured it seemed.
Second attempt I didn't watch, as I was disgusted and worn out, and never had a password that worked when it did finally start (45 minutes to install(!))
So ran a repair and assigned myself a password, but on restart it AGAIN seems to be dead on the first installation and configuration. It dies half way through, which may actually be always dying at the Unpacking Zentyal mail 4.0.1.
What an ordeal! Is this thing dead, or should I let it run _another_ hour and ten minutes?
