Installation and Upgrades / Getting Windows 7 to Reconize PDC?
« on: January 09, 2011, 03:45:39 am »
I have tried changing the Domain Name in File Sharing section to various things, suck home.domain name.info and I also tried leaving the default ZENTYAL-DOMAIN except Windows always comes back with the error the Domain can't be joined.

What should the Domain be in the this section? And what is Windows looking for?

Installation and Upgrades / Apache2 and Virtual Hosts?
« on: February 19, 2010, 05:44:09 pm »
there are two issues that both may be contributing,,, one is the 'default' virtual host ... still there and active, how do you configure this in eBox1.4?

Particularly it has the command NaveVirtualHosts *   which can only appears once for a apache server, it turns on virtual hosting on the web server but when it is executed on apache start up, more than once it produces the errors you are seeing on restart of apache.

root@dragon-server:/etc/apache2/sites-available# sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

Where do I add this line to Apache2. I tried in /etc/apache2/sites-available/ebox-www.dragonsden.info, restarted apache.

NameVirtualHost *
<VirtualHost *>

        ServerName www.dragonsden.info

Installation and Upgrades / DHCP Changing hostname to ip address
« on: January 25, 2010, 02:03:16 pm »
The router has my server listed as dragon-server until this request is made? Afterwords I have yo manually enter the hostname again to get the internal network to allow users to see web page or use Jabber. And since I have never found the answer to ddlicent updating issue, it all related somehow.

I have finally figured out how to set this POS router to Static IP Address for the internal, Can I now change the server to Static or is that only for a Static from the ISP?

Jan 25 01:49:51 dragon-server dhclient: DHCPREQUEST of <null address> on eth0 to 192.168.1.254 port 67
Jan 25 01:49:51 dragon-server dhclient: DHCPACK of 192.168.1.3 from 192.168.1.254
Jan 25 01:49:52 dragon-server dhclient: bound to 192.168.1.3 -- renewal in 35475 seconds.

When I use sudo ddclient -daemon=0 –verbose, yet as usual If I force the router to update the IP Address it does and so does ddclient?

root@dragon-server:~# sudo ddclient -daemon=0 –verbose
Use of uninitialized value in string ne at /usr/sbin/ddclient line 1973.

Use of uninitialized value in string ne at /usr/sbin/ddclient line 1973.

I'm also getting this error in the daemon.log, yet when I attempt via links to connect to ipdetect.dnspark.con I do in fact get my current correct IP Address.

Installation and Upgrades / Printer Setup
« on: January 04, 2010, 05:12:07 pm »
This worked for me, if anyone has better way to do these steps please chime in.

What I did to get my HP-7580 All in one to work is, you create the printer you want via the Printer Sharing eBox Module save that. Go back to the Printer Sharing Module/Manage Printers and enable CUPS Stand alone.

First you need to give yourself Admin access to the CUPS Server, here is how.

sudo nano /etc/cups/cupsd.conf what I did was add Allow My IP Address to all the lines that say Allow at the bottom of each line. Like this

# Restrict access to the server...
<Location />
  Order allow,deny
  Allow localhost
  Allow @LOCAL
  Allow 192.168.1.X
</Location>

# Restrict access to the admin pages...
<Location /admin>
  Order allow,deny
  Allow localhost
  Allow 192.168.1.X
</Location>

CTRL+X it will ask you to save Yes and hit enter.

Now here is what made it work for me, I then log into the CUPS Server https://your ip address:631

that will allow you to Administer the CUPS Printer server. I then use Admin/Find New Printers. Just pick the one you want and install. Once you have the printer you want go back to eBox In the Users TAB enable all printers you have listed.

Installation and Upgrades / Using Smart Relay Host
« on: January 04, 2010, 03:09:27 pm »
I have AT&T DSL and they block port 25, I have a friend who is going to allow me to relay SMTP through his server for my domain.

When he is done, I should just have to use the Username and Password and the Domain and it should work correct?

Make sure you check out the Credits page for my site.

Installation and Upgrades / Mail Server and Web Server issues?
« on: December 29, 2009, 08:06:53 pm »
The mail filter is crashing and will no longer restart, and the mail.log says all attempts are being rejected. Prior to the most recent reboot, the log was 10 pages of rejected mail messages. Here is what my Mail Queue is looking like? Also get this error when attempting to restart Mail Filter Module.

As for the Web Server it's up and down, I have restarted the module and server many times to no avail.
I have proper DNS finally.
It works for a while then just stops working. ddclient is working according to these records. The Apache2 log file is here.

Installation and Upgrades / ddclient configuration?

This is what I have for the ddclient.conf

# /etc/ddclient.conf
pid=/var/run/ddclient.pid

For the first time in over a month I got eBox to install with no bumps in the road. Now I can't get to the Web UI to configure the server. Tried my bookmarked URL of https://192.168.1.201:443 just times out.

I can ping 192.168.1.201 and if I use Links2 I can get the Web UI, But only from the server console, I can't telnet or ssh to the server with Secure CRT to any port. It's like the server is not there?

I see the server in my network on my Windows machine, but since I have no sharing configures I can't do anything at all.

Any help as usual will be appreciated, and to all the eBox staff Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year......

Installation and Upgrades / Problems with ddclient not connecting again
« on: December 22, 2009, 06:23:27 am »
I get this error message from the daemon.log when I'm using the tail -f command. This all came about after a server reboot, It's been acting like this for the last 2 weeks since a recent clean install. DNS is not working then it does after a while? What else can I check to see whats going on, what log file etc? And I have restarted ddlcient and bind just to make sure, nothing has changed so far as I know as in configurations and such. I'm currently unable to access any internal or external web sites via links.

since all of my recent issues with my ebox server 1.2.2.4 with many of the modules failing one after the other, I decided to do yet another Full Clean Reinstall from the ground up.

No go.

1. 1.2.2 Fails when installing ebox the /tmp/ebox-install.log says the same thing that libebox failed to install?

2. 1.2.2.5 Same issue

3. 1.3.10.2 You guessed it SAME......

Here is the entire ebox-installer.log for my 3rd failed attempt with 1.3

I uploaded the file to this url.

Installation and Upgrades / ebox 1.2.2 Falling Apart piece by piece
« on: December 05, 2009, 05:35:51 pm »
3 important thing that stopped working after a full clean install last week.

1. egroupware server no longer works at all, I have purged, auto removed and install multiple times to no avail, view my post for all the fixes that have been tried(and then nothing no further help) http://forum.ebox-platform.com/index.php?topic=2291.0

2. Jabber server will no longer accept connections, same as above removed and installed 3 time yesterday. http://forum.ebox-platform.com/index.php?topic=2368.0 I have spent 8+ on the IRC chat just waiting for someone to respond and it's as if I'm not there or they don't want to help me.

3. none of my users can see the ebox server via there Windows PC's (I can \\server-name and get it) but this just adds to my confusion, all of a sudden these services are no longer working. I would really not like to have to reinstall again, and since the last 2 time I did so the Backup's did not restore properly I can't trust that.

What do I do here HELP!!!!!!

Installation and Upgrades / Jabber Server Flakey
« on: December 04, 2009, 03:10:19 am »
After a reboot this afternoon I nor can any of the user's login to Jabber. I have stopped and restarted Jabber several times so far. It keeps saying the username and password's are incorrect. Went through the users and reset the PW's and such, I also disabled and reinabled the Jabber module at least 3 times.

I looked for Jabber in the eBox Logs and there are none.

Any idea what's going on?

Thanks
