Installation and Upgrades / help with configuring DocMGR to authenticate against zentyal LDAP

I am trying to set up DocMGR as a document management system, currently I have managed to get everything to work except authenticating users against my LDAP server which is Zentyal 2.2.

I have posted on the DocMGR project forum but the response time is not exactly quick

I would be grateful for any suggestions as I am not entirely sure these settings are correct.

Installation and Upgrades / blocking access attempts by IP address

We have had a number of breaking attempts via ssh.  Nobody has got in but it floods the syslogs with alerts.  Is there any way to configure the zentyal firewall and/or IDS to block access according to number of failed attempts and IP address?  I suspect it might be do able via the events and dispatchers?

Installation and Upgrades / zentyal 2.2 virtual machines manager with virtualbox

I am trying to get the virtual machine manager in 2.2 to work with virtualbox.  I have a fresh install of ubuntu 10.04 and have installed virtualbox from the standard repos (I think it is version 3.2)but when I try to install zentyal-virt, it also installs kvm as well.  I have also tried with virtualbox4.2 but have tha same problem. 

I have managed it earlier in the week but can't seem to get it to work now.  Please can someone tell me which vision of virtualbox I need to use?

Installation and Upgrades / FTP help

running zentyal 2.2 but I can't get any ftp clients to connect with ssl enabled, tried fireftp, and several android clients that support ssl.  With ssl disabled there is not problem connecting.  There doesn't seem to be anything in the logs either??

Suggestions are welcome

Installation and Upgrades / zentyal 2.2 can't start virtual machine

my first attempt at using the virtual machine module and I have failed at the first hurdle
I am trying to install xp as a VM.
I have the following settings:
Operating system: i686 compatible
Base memory: 512
Network settings: NAT
Device settings: CD/DVD /media/cdrom and Hard disc: create a new disc, 8000MB

I have uncommented the "use_ide_disks = yes" line in /etc/zentyal/virt.conf as per this post http://forum.zentyal.org/index.php/topic,12489.0.html

The cdrom is mounted with:

I have a share called sysvol appearing on the zentyal domain.  A quick look at the smb.conf shows this entry:

What is this for?

Installation and Upgrades / Zenytal 3.0 Printer access denied

Having problems connecting to a networked printer via XP client.  I am able to print a test page from cups so I know it's working, I have enabled configured access via the user group and specific user and I have also tried enabling guest access but I still get Access denied, unable to connect.

I can view and alter the printer properties.

I might add that this printer worked with zentyal 2.0

Any help would be appreciated.

I have successfully managed to get subsonic to authenicate against zentyal 2.0 ldap directory by using this guide:

I can't get it to work with zentyal 3.0

Any suggestions?

Installation and Upgrades / realm name and samba logon problems - workaround

I have being having a similar problem to the guys in this post:

in that the realm name is automatically set to be the same of the as the fqdn but then the .com suffix (I think this is called the TLN) is omitted form the NetBIOS domain name.  The problem with this is that the windows clients are not able to logon to the local samba domain.  If you simply try to add the suffix back in using the File Sharing module admin page, you get the error that the NetBIOS domain name is too log.  I have also found that changing the realm name in the krb5.conf file makes no difference so I have resorted to the following work around:
1. create an exhaustible file in /etc/zentyal/hooks called samba.postsetconf
2. use the following command to find the realm name in the smb.conf file and replace it with your fqdn:

sed -i 's/YOUR_FQDN.COM/YOUR_FQDN/g' /etc/samba/smb.confThen restart the module, you will still find the NetBIOS domain name listed in the file sharing admin page without the suffix but you windows clients will now be able to logon to the samba domain

This is a very rough and read way of doing things which simply reflects my lack of programming knowledge and I am more than happy if someone can provide a more elegant method

Installation and Upgrades / zentyal 2.2 ldap master and slave

I have 2 servers, I want one to be the master ldap server and the other to be a slave that authenticates against the master.  I currently run zentyal 2.0 but this requires a separate ldap server as it not possible to run a master ldap server and file sharing on the same machine. 

I have been trying out zentyal 3 as I though samba4 would get around this problem but alas v3.0 is simply not stable enough at present.  So my question is if zentyal 2.2 is capable of running as a ldap master and operate file sharing on the same machine?

Installation and Upgrades / can't access admin page on new install from zentyal iso

Have installed a new copy of zentyal 3 using the installer iso but I can't access the admin page from either the local machine or remotely.  Tried to reconfigure the admin port but can't do that either?

ssh works fine.

Any suggestions?

Installation and Upgrades / migrating from zentyal 2.0 to 3.0 incl zarafa

I will need to migrate my users fom my old server runnig v.2.0 to the new server that will be running v3.0.  This will include all the zarafa data as well.

What is the best method to do this?

I have 2 broadband connections into my zentyal server. 

eth0 is the LAN connection
eth1 is for general internet traffic
eth2 is connected to a separate router provided by a specific provider to connect to their server. 

How do I configure my zentyal server to forward traffic for a specific IP address or domain name to eth2 and everything else to eth1??

Installation and Upgrades / can't send mail from virtual domain alias with zarafa without altering spooler.c

I have a virtual mail domain up and working with a single alias domain which I can't send mail from using zarafa.  The mail is always returned with the following error:

Code: [Select]

Unfortunately, I was unable to deliver your mail.
The error given was:

Error found while trying to send your message. Error code: 0x8004010F

You may need to contact your e-mail administrator to solve this problem.
having googled the error, I came across this entry on the zarafa forum:

so I looked in the spooler.log and found the following entry:

Fri Feb 10 11:20:36 2012: [ 8705] User 'xxx' is not allowed to send as user or group 'xxx'. You may enable all outgoing addresses by enabling the always_send_delegates option.
So I changed the spooler.cfg to

Code: [Select]

always_send_delegates = yes
And hey presto it works after restarting the zarafa server.

My question is, would it be possible to have zarafa make this alteration to the zarafa spooler.cfg when an alias is added to a mail domain?
