I guess that what I wanted to backup, it was /mnt/data1 - the backup user has no rights to read.
Any idea how to advance the rights of the backup user? All the dirs are owned root.Administrators in the subdirs of /mnt/data1 .....

Hi,
I tried the webinterface to issue a scheduled backup at 18:00 today, and I found out that it would not backup the data from the external drive /mnt/data1 to the FTP-backup server (192.168.x.y:/home/Zentyal)
What *was* backed up, were the other directories I selected.
Any help ?

Torsten: I cannot even find that option anywhere in the DNS options. Can you elaborate where to find this "gateway for DNS" option?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: kerberos-login faulty?
« on: February 19, 2014, 12:48:46 pm »
Yes I can access other services, i.e. \\server\shares etc.
However, I solved this already - something mysteriously changed my TCP/IP DNS settings of the Win7 client from "zentyalserver-ip" to "automatically get DNS". :-(
Sorry for the inconvenience.

95
Solved: Edited the /boot/grub.conf file.
For some reason, my machine needs the "nomodeset" parameter in the linux kernel boot line, too.
 How ugly...

96
Solved it myself:

"lvdisplay" displayed all current LVM partitions; "lvcreate" created a new partition, which was mounted editing the /etc/fstab.
If ACL problems occur, "setfacl" and "getfacl" help.

97
Under "domain/group policy objects", I added a group policy objeects called "loginscripts".
However, it is empty.
Then I decided to delete that empty object. It is not possible.....
So what to do?

Installation and Upgrades / [solved] kerberos-login faulty?
« on: February 18, 2014, 02:25:34 pm »
Hello,
I _once_ logged in to my local Win-7-client using the Kerberos System by the local Zentyal server.
Later, I found a local user was created on the harddisk of the Win-7-client; which is not what I wanted to do.
Thus, I simply deleted the c:\users\<username> directory and all its subdirectories.
Maybe that was a mistake.  :-(

Now, everytime I try to login as "any kerberos user from the zentyal server" on the Win-7-client, I get the error:
"You were logged on with a temporary profile".

I already deleted all registry keys in HKLM\SW\MS\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList  - this does not help me in any way, the error still persists: I can log in on the client, but I am always assigned a temporary profile.    :-\

I also installed the Microsoft RSAT Tools on the Win7 client, but they refuse to connect to the Zentyal server.

Any advice of just what to do to get my normal Kerberos login back?
At the moment, "klist" only says:

C:\Users\TEMP>klist
Aktuelle Anmelde-ID ist 0:0x75465c
Zwischengespeicherte Tickets: (0)

So, no kerberos-tickets for me, for some unknown reason.
Any advice of just what to do to get a normal, working, kerberos login, is appreciated!

That worked! Thanks!

Thanks JOEG1484, your advice worked! Now the database is back and all mails are back, too.
PHEW.

Hello,

Today, I cannot log in to Webmail. Trying to do so, I get the error:

"DATABASE ERROR: CONNECTION FAILED!

Unable to connect to the database!
Please contact your server-administrator."

From the logfile /var/log/roundcube:

Can you give me any advice of just what to do to get Webmail back to normal again?

Hello,
I told Zentyal to ask for a passphrase for the crypted drive since he installed himself to a crypted drive.
fdisk looks like this:

Quote
Disk /dev/sda: 499.6 GB, 499558383616 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60734 cylinders, total 975699968 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00006ecf

Device Boot      Start         End      Blocks   Id  System
/dev/sda1   *        2048      499711      248832   83  Linux
/dev/sda2          501758   975697919   487598081    5  Extended
Partition 2 does not start on physical sector boundary.
/dev/sda5          501760   975697919   487598080   83  Linux

I decided to use about 113 GB for the main system:

 df -h
Filesystem                  Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/srv01--vg-root  113G  2,3G  105G   3% /

Now, where are the other unused (500GB-113GB) from the drive gone to, and how can I use them, manually?
I would love to add another crypted partition in that space somehwere (crypted with some other passphrase and other crypt mechanism). Is that possible, and if so, how to do it ?

« on: February 12, 2014, 04:53:40 pm »
Folgendes:

Irgendwelche tips ?
