Title: Trying to confirm use case- newbie question
Post by: ethyr2000 on December 07, 2020, 02:47:03 pm
I understand that AD is used for file access management- but is that it's only purpose in zentyal?  I thought AD also maintained user/group security policy (e.g. ability to install software, program execution permissions, external drive permissions, group policy internet firewall rules, etc. for windows systems).

Does AD in Zentyal address these things in standalone?  Are other modules necessary for this functionality?  Are modules with this functionality available?

Thank you for the clarification

You can't manage GPOs directly from the Zentyal GUI but you can user Remote Server Administration Tools from any Windows computer conntected to the domain. There is a link in the "Domain section" of Zentyal GUI.
