morning
apologies I saw saw your etc/hosts and incorrectly presumed you meant C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts.  Do not change the hosts file on the Zentyal server.
from memory I recall there was confusion over the name that is used to join the domain with, have you tried both the Realm and Netbios name with the administrator account?
have a look at the youtube video's by thejonasnet and zentyal.
to help further I'll need to replicate your fault and refresh my memory by powering up my test environment I'll probably get a chance monday afternoon or wednesday.
let me know how you get on?
jase
ps just had a thought can you browse to a share on the server to prove they can see each other?

evening
i've never used 127.?.?.? apart from the normal loop back address, google implies you can'y use this range saying "In other words anything that you ping within that range (127.0.0.0 – 127.255.255.255) will reply back to the localhost (loopback)."
I would remove all the additional zentyal entries from the hosts file

"if you can attach to the domain" = if the client is authenticated on the domain
from memory, is the date and time the same on pc and server, the new kerberos implementation requires this. Also are you using a major(eg london) time zone, I used a minor(guernsey) and this stopped mine working. read my other posts and benrunlund's document

evening
a bit more info on what you have tried so far would be useful.
have a look at https://forum.zentyal.org/index.php/topic,13394.msg55469.html#msg55469 and my ref to benronlund as he wrote a useful document.
the registry changes you mention in your other post are not required anymore.
the error looks like a dns issue to me, to prove this set the zentyal box as the first dns server on the win7 client's network config, if you can attach to the domain the dns needs fixing.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Windows 7 and actual Zentyal
« on: April 17, 2014, 11:51:54 pm »
Good evening
would you mind saying what your/your bosses reasons are for not considering the professional support option, the support team would surely have been able to asist and solve your Outlook fault?
I have previously undertaken MS SBS client support and recently installed SBS2011 which was a little painful but also has ongoing pain, I have a Zentyal installation to undertake and I'm considering a subscription for the reason there will be paid for support to assist.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: kerberos-login faulty?
« on: February 18, 2014, 11:37:22 pm »
hello,
I'll try to help
I've seen this on a couple of sbs2003 to xp and a samba to xp setup, I fixed this by either
re-applying the users security to their local profile folder if that failed I completey deleted the local profile and let it be copied down on next login.
neither of these are working for you as you have deleted the local profile and it is not downloading,
if you look at my post 45, I briefly mention a problem with windows 7 and Zentyal 3.09, this was a while ago and I think I was referring to the permissons on the profile folder on the Zentyal server.

to clarify the situation and aid help from other reviewers, can you answer
when logged on with a temporary profile can you access other Zentyal services like data stored in shares on the Zentyal server?
do you get any error information when the RSAT tools refuse to connect?
why do you call this "kerberos-login faulty" you have authenticated on the server, this is a profile loading problem?
if you create a new user does the profile load correctly?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: 3.3.2 Group Policy not working

hello
the first message implies you are not connected to the domain controller or cannot see the DC.
Can you confirm you have attached to the domain and dns is working ?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Joining Windows domain license question
« on: December 22, 2013, 09:15:48 pm »
hello
you will only need cals to access any windows servers that you have left in your windows domain
e.g. if you only have a Zentyal server and no other MS servers no cals will be required

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Prevent profile sync
« on: June 08, 2013, 10:55:46 pm »
good evening fbarata

can we presume you are talking about 'windows profiles'

if so, are you saying you don't wish to sync profiles or you want a static profile that you create and the user can not save changes to?

if the former leave the path blank if the latter, I've never used these but have googled and found this http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb776895%28v=vs.85%29.aspx anyuse?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: /boot partition full
« on: June 06, 2013, 09:53:16 pm »
good evening
I don't wish to hijack Lambomba's thread, what is the etiquete here as I've got exactly the same issue and have been meaning to investigate further then saw this thread today?

robb: I also only have a 228mb boot partition, suspect this is a default or we both chose poorly
Filesystem                Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/zentyal-root  456G  6.4G  426G   2% /
udev                      1.4G  8.0K  1.4G   1% /dev
tmpfs                     577M  340K  577M   1% /run
none                       50M     0   50M   0% /run/lock
none                      1.5G  4.0K  1.5G   1% /run/shm
/dev/sda1                 228M  224M     0 100% /boot

christian:
I have 261 log files is this a high value?

this is just a test machine, I was going to duplicayte the disk then experiment with resizing tools, any advice appreciated.
thanks

I've had this before where the wireless computer is not logged into the wireless network until you are logged into the computer and so trying to join a domain you are in a catch 22 situation, I recall the way I got around this was login as you have with an ethernet cable then used the cached login on the computer to achieve login over wireless, which you say you have already done.
therefore if you login over ethernet then switch to 'wireless only' does it still work in the domain, do this to prove the wireless is all ok?
if it doesn't work you have a wireless issue if it does work you'll need to looking into the cached login not be used or checking the wireless device on the computer will login to the AP before the actual user has logged in

hello
off the top of my head this is the expected outcome to logging into a new domain controller, you get a new desktop unless it has already been created and stored on the server, assuming your using roaming profiles
you could have copied all the profiles off the old DC to the new DC once you know the folder locations or copied from the individual profile folders from the workstations to the profile folder on the new DC.
otherwise I can't see how the policies and profiles settings on the new DC would know about your existing profiles on the individual workstations and therefore reference them on login

evening
I don't have an answer but am interested to see if I can replicate this scenario, then help to solve it

Which version of access are you using?
I assume the database you are using will be confidential, maybe we can replicate the fault with the good old ms northwinds sample database

Ira - are you saying if you copy the mdb back to a win 2000 server share, the fast data access will return?
is there a difference in the file paths between the zentyal server and ms server, maybe spaces in the path names?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: cant access shares on win xp
« on: March 03, 2013, 08:38:15 pm »
evening ulif
can I assume you are logging in from xp into the zentyal domain?
can you reboot the xp machine (i've had problems with permissions on xp with a reboot solving it) and try mapping a drive but specify a user with elevated (domain admin) rights on the mapping properties to a zentyal share.
you say the current zentyal version is 3.013, do you know what it was when you started enabling the samba module, I have seen a problem with permissions on a low zentyal 3 version number, even upgrading did not fix it for me.
Would you know how to login as root on the zentyal box and check the permissions on a folder?
you say P: is mapped, but is this the one giving the error- access denied?
