I configure the filter this is ok. I will look at removing the port because yes I'm using it as a transparent proxy

Did you have Windows live messenger installed on your Windows machine?

If so, remove Windows live ID sign in assistant in the installed program. If you don't find it remove Windows live messenger!

I know it create problem when we try to connect Linux/Mac to Windows! not sure if it create the same problem the other way!

1I use virt-manager. Everything work fine except that I have trouble installing a second NIC on the VM not on Zentyal it self.

Installation and Upgrades / Virtual machine network setup problem
« on: October 09, 2010, 05:19:19 am »
Hi

I want to setup Zentyal gateway as a virtual machine. The serveur has 2 NIC. By default when I create the machine there is only onle NIC bridge to eth0. I'm using KVM and I don't know how to add the eth1 card that would be plugged to the internet.

Each time I try the KVM fonction of adding a physical device and select the eth1 card. The machine freeze.

Is this setup possible or I do I need to run Zentyal on the bare metal server?

Hi,

Question 1: Yes there is a well made web GUI, as for upnp most application should work but the firewall is sometime very thick!

question 2: You can install it but it won't be manage by Zentyal. I think the squid proxy and Dansguardian can do the job

question 3: Yes you can configure the proxy to handle that but not with the content filter working.

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED]Re: Using MS VPN trought zentyal

see post http://forum.zentyal.org/index.php?topic=4938.msg20309#msg20309 my configuration is not valid for a gateway. I still need to test if the MS VPN can cross the firewall with the right configuration.

OK I found why my setup don't work. If I look at this doc: http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Document/HowTo/SetUpNetworkScenario my setup is scenario 2 and Zentyal is not supposed to work as a gateway for this setup.

I succeeded in making my setup work but without Zentyal simply with a DHCP3-server, Squid3 and Dansguardian. I also reroute all traffic to Squid3 port 3128. Zentyal firewall look too tick for my need! The neat interface will missed me.

I still think that this scenario should be supported.

I found something at
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B314076&x=16&y=11
Client ports           Server port        Protocol
1024-65535/TCP   1723/TCP                PPTP

But even if I configure a VPN service with that range of port in firewall => internal network it can't reach my office network!

All service I try doesn't cross the firewall... very secure! I tried also to put a rule for tcp 995 for outlook to get a yahoo mail but it doesn't work nether!

Look like there is something I don't understand with firewall!

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED]Using MS VPN trought zentyal
« on: September 13, 2010, 07:22:32 pm »
Hi,

I installed Zentyal as a DHCP server and Proxy this week end. Zentyal is the greatest thing I found since the iPhone!

Work great except that this morning when I tryed to reach my office trough VPN oops! Doesn't work!

My laptop is Windows XP with MS VPN client. The Laptop is between the Zentyal server and the router.

How can I solve this issue? Is it possible without putting my laptop in a DMZ?
