Thanks so much for your prompt response ...
Looks like I'm in a lot of trouble regarding replication ... I really thought that Zentyal might be the answer to my immediate need for a replacement PDC ... now I realize that Samba has replication issues ... Zentyal worked so well ... until I added a backup ... not only caused many features not to work ... there appears to be no way to go back ... now PDC doesn't work ... after removing additional controller ... is there a procedure that will give me the final product that I need? ... very frustrating ... thanks for all your help ... I suppose that I will have to go through the (lengthy) reload process ... once for the PDC ... and once for the backup ... any ideas? Logon and logout script functionality are deal breakers ... need to get away from Resara ... I appreciate your help ...

Zentyal 4.0 installed on Proxmox VM ... added one Windows 7 Pro computer (not a VM) to domain ... login & logoff scripts work perfectly ... as soon as additional domain controller is added to domain, logon / logoff scripts no longer run ... period. Crashed both VM's and reinstalled single domain controller as before ... and login / logoff scripts work correctly ...

Zentyal advised me that this has been fixed in the newest CORE ... update your system ... works for me!
