i am unable to log into the zentyal 2.02. i get this error Xsession: warning: unable to write to /tmp.
basically the zentyal has crashed.please help

Hi there,

i have setup SARG report on my zentyal firewall.but i get these IPs in the report. i dont understand why the report shows me public ip instead on my local machine ip which is in the range 192.168.0.100 to 200.please help.

Hi there,

I have setup Zentyal version 2.07 as DHCP,DNS,Firewall. the problem i have is the users cannot receive email to their outlook account. i dont have mail server setup on the zentyal. the port 110 is open when i telnet the port.please help.

I want to connect a branch office to the head office via MPLS through ZENTYAL.how can i do it.do i have to create Virtual Interface or connect to a new NIC on the zentyal machine and config as Bridge.

Hi there,

i am trying to forward the RDP port 3389 from remote users to my server. but they cannot connect. i have configured Port Forwarding in the UTM--Firewall menu.

Interface: eth0
Original destination: <The name of the virtual interface with IP x.x.x.134>
Original destination port: 3389
Protocol: TCP
Source: Any
Destination IP: 192.168.0.2
Port: Same

please help

Hello there,

I have setup a UTM for my company  using Zentyal (EBox). i have 3 servers which users(local and remote) RDP on these servers to do their everyday work. The local users RDP 192.168.0.1 and the remote users RDP 70.170.180.160. now the problem i have is i cannot access the internet from the servers. i can from my local machine connect to the internet and RDP the servers.but from the server i cannot connect to the internet. the network layout is shown in the pic. by the way in the zentyal i have mentioned to lease ip between 192.168.0.100 to 200. but my servers are in the range 192.168.0.1 - 2 - 3 is it alright and do i need to define these static ip in the DHCP's fixed addresses section or not needed.please help. i am stuck.

Installation and Upgrades / Cannot return to Dashboard

Hi there,

when the Zentyal machine is idle, the machine displays the console with username/passw.but when i enter the credentials.i get the access t othe console.but not to the interface(dashboard).
i tried sudo /etc/init.d/slim restart. i get a message saying "Another instance of the program is already running with PID 7437".but when i use ALT-CTRL F1....F7,i dont see the interface.please help me.

Hi there,

i have setup zentyal. i have two NIC's LAN and WAN. i cannot connect to the internet from the zentyal machine. also i cannot ping other machines from the zentyal machine nor can i ping the 2 nics from my laptop. when i connected the LAN of Zentyal to the laptop i got ip and also could connect to the internet from my laptop.please help

Hi there,

I have setup Zentyal as the gateway/firewall in our network. now my problem is how can the remote users connect to my Application server. i mean before the remote users used to remote desktop to my AS directly with its static ip. i have Terminal server setup on my AS. now that i have added Zentyal,how do i tell Zentyal to open my application for the remove users.please help.

Hello there,

i have an application server on which i have my application and users connect to this server via Remote desktop to use my application. the local and remote users connect via RDP. the remote users use a static IP and the local users use a local ip(static). the server is connected directly to the internet. now i want to add another server which will host the company's website. this server will also be directly connected to the internet. to increase the security of the servers i am planning to setup a firewall between the internet and the servers. i am planning to use zentyal. now my question is will it create issue for the remote and local users to connect to the application server.for e.g. the users will have to RDP the firewall and then again RDP the AS or no.please help me to understand the issues i will face and the solution to it.

I have 4 NICs out of which two are connected to the local network.2 NICs i have assigned static ip but when i do ifconfig, it shows the following.the thing is eth1 has been assigned an ip address.i was wondering when this is not connected how is it getting ip.what about eth4 which has no ip.

Installation and Upgrades / [Solved] Cannot access Zentyal from other machine

Hello there,

i cannot access the Zentyal interface from my laptop. when i enter https://ubuntu,it does not open the admin interface. i have 4 NICs,two are connected and i get ip for them when i run ifconfig.
one of the NIC i have set the property to DHCP and enabled External(WAN) and the second NIC i selected DHCP and External(WAN) not selected.
please help.
