Is sending and receiving mail enabled or not? because I installed the module and it works flawless, but without mail receiving (that is still being delivered to the 'webmail' part, not Zarafa)

Whoo hooo!!

I just love this project!! :-D

Just when i started to give up on Zarafa! Thanx a million for integrating this! I use webmail all the time, so a nice interface is welcome (roundcube is a little limited eg no calendar!) and the sync functions are very welcome to me!

I'm installing now! thanx Oceanwatcher for posting the replies!

so it seems to bee...

I found a chart on wikipedia which displays my chart in a great way...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_collaborative_software

So.. what a mess.. Why isn't it easier as this? Guess then one will have to pay for it. But if this works I could (re-)sell it! But for now I rest my case, but when I find something I'll let you know! And I'll keep an eye on this thread!

Never thought I'd get so much reactions  :).
How about creating a (whish) list and searching for the right Groupware afterwards? Maybe this search has been done, don't know that now. I'm not intending to invent the wheel again, so if this has been done before.. please don't read on :)!

maybe it's better to start a new thread, I could manage that later (if my post is a problem, inform me, and I'll start a new thread)

So (for now) the list of connectivity whishes:
Software clients:
Outlook
Thunderbird
Kontact (the PIM in KDE)
Evolution (the PIM in Ubuntu)

Mobile clients:

Nokia phones
Blackberry
Android based phones
iPhones

And a (short!) list of possible groupware-packages:

Package:                                Supports all mobile:              Supports all software clients:
SOGo
Zarafa (free ed)
eGroupware
Zimbra
Scalix

now to fill the blanks and add more to the list!

It would be interesting to see what of the groupware systems that has more functions and especially connectivity in the free version.

Zarafa seems to have serious limitations on the free version. What about the others?

What do you mean by connectivity (connections to outlook, other mail systems (exchange for example), connectivity to the backend for user sync?

And how about SOGo? It's not as feature rich as Zarafa, but what I read about it it's easier to install and uses funambol (don't know anything about it, never used it) as 3rd app for sync.

Thanx for keeping me posted! I've tried another server (SME Server) for now, but installing Zarafa on that is as hard as installing it in eBox.

I am reading the development docs on this site, which will (hopfully ;)) improve my inputs. But for now I'm contributing my thoughts! Maybe dumb sometimes... but maybe there's a point in it, but it needs a lot of adjustment to actually work.

I'll try and update the configs for this. I am reading a lot lately about postfix.

I have had no luck configuring fetchmail and virtual mailboxes  ???.
Can somebody who has a working fetchmailrc that uses virtual domains.
I have had success with real Linux users but not virtual ones.

Could you try to change the domain name from wbc into wbc.local? Try a domain name WITH a dot. so wbc.xxxx

Let us know!

Installation and Upgrades / Re: eBox 1.5: no access to user corner
« on: August 12, 2010, 03:10:55 pm »
Other than letting the Users change their own passwords, the only other functionality I needed from  User Corner was creating external email account retrieval entries. Fortunately eBox just uses fetchmail for this so to get around the User Corner access issue I simply disabled User Corner, copied /etc/ebox-fetchmail.rc to /etc/fetchmailrc, entered the appropriate external account entries (found http://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/mail-fetchmail.html helpful), then started the fetchmail daemon by setting START_DAEMON=yes in /etc/default/fetchmail and 'sudo /etc/init.d/fetchmail start'. Would be a bit cumbersome for many accounts but could get you up and running until User Corner is fixed.

First I would like to thank you for this info! That was what I needed to get fetchmail running!

And second: You are absolutly right about this, a bit cumbersome if one would have a lot of accounts.. But still, a fix would be far better then this workaround (for me it's perfect! I've got my eBox-box running with zarafa and fetchmail!).

Same error here.

This has to be fixed, this is a real showstopper... anybody?

Integration is already done? ohw.. I see I didn't search enough  ;D

I'll install (or try to) the module and see where and how i can help!

Well ok, this might sound like a dump question.. But I can't find the answer....

How do I install your eBox-zarafa module? (Turned out I did not have all the developer tools available on my system! Like build-essential, automake, m4....)

But now I have configured things in such a way that I am able to authenticate users through LDAP

And I'm able to send and 'receive' (which is in my case only internal mail, external requires fetchmail which can be configured through the UserCorner, which gives me an error..... :-() mail. Although I did this in a bit of a dirty way.

I've edited usr/share/ebox/stubs/mail/master.cf.mas:
.......................
scache    unix  -       -       -       -       1       scache

dovecot unix    -       n       n       -       -       pipe
 flags=DRhu user=vmail argv=/usr/bin/zarafa-dagent ${user}

#
# ====================================================================
# Interfaces to non-Postfix software. Be sure to examine the manual
.......................

I've also edited usr/share/ebox/stubs/mail/main.cf.mas:

.......................
smtp_helo_name = <% $mailname %>
alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases

alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases
local_recipient_maps = proxy:unix:passwd.byname $alias_maps
mailbox_command = /usr/bin/zarafa-dagent "$USER"
mailbox_transport = zarafa:
zarafa_destination_recipient_limit = 1

relayhost = <% $relay %>
.......................

And I tested this config, only to find out I made a typo (cut&paste error :-))
This is (OFF COURSE) incorrect:   flags=DRhu user=vmail argv=argv=/usr/bin/zarafa-dagent ${user}

Changed in:
  flags=DRhu user=vmail argv=/usr/bin/zarafa-dagent ${user}

Ok, so I did manage to get Zarafa working with eBox LDAP config.

With the help of this forum of course! Bjorn (I think, can't recall the name, but I hope I'm right!) posted a little 'howto' or half of it! I wrote down what I did so I should be able to produce a little howto. Just covered the basics, manage to use the LDAP of eBox for resolution of users.

my next step:
- integrate/import the zarafa schema into the eBox LDAP
- enable mail (would be nice  :P )

and then later on I would like (something I can't do):

- integrate it with eBox. I would like to help, but I think I can go no further as testing, because I'm not a programmer!

Is there any interrest in my howto?  ???  ;)

Maybe there are some other interesting parts. Backup mysql database.

If it's possible to choose zarafa or groupware(i think) at the installation of ebox it would be great.

I have a ebox 1.5/zarafa 6.40 running. Just to test the combination. And it's great to create users in ebox and use them in zarafa webaccess and outlook (Maybe z-push also,  for mobile connection)

Would you mind explaining how you did it?

I am too very interrested in this combination. Just for my own use (as a test server) but from that to a company with about 5 - 8 employees. To replace the Win SBS 2003 machine.

Would be great if I got it up and running!

I already saw another topic about this (LDAP configuration) and I replied in jet another topic (about combining Ebox en Zarafa). :)

For testing purposes wouldn't it be nice to have a howto?
