Installation and Upgrades / Re: Problem with outlook anywhere
« on: April 15, 2014, 10:45:18 pm »
Julien,

Thank you for this information.  Two more questions:

1) Is there any temporary fix or workaround for this so we do not have to press <shift-f9> to check email?

2) Is there an eta for 3.5?

Thank you

It seems yes.. When I press <shift-f9> it does update the email.  What does this mean?

Thank you

Installation and Upgrades / Problem with outlook anywhere
« on: April 12, 2014, 02:47:37 am »
Hi,

I have the latest zentyal installed and patched.  I can access (openchange) email/calendar from the webmail and from my android phone with no problem.  When I start outlook (again, outlook anywhere is what I am using), it gets the mail and displays it.  But it never downloads new mail.  I press "send/receive" and it says "all folders are up to date", but it is not showing new mail.  Webmail and android show the new mail.  If I close outlook and re-open it, it downloads mail again once, but does not update.  I have tried this on multiple computers with the same result.   Before 3.4.1 outlook anywhere worked fine for me.. so I don't really know what is happening.

Does anyone have any suggestions to troubleshoot this?

Thanks

Robb,

I am using 3.4 with the latest updates.  Maybe it is not implemented yet.  Thank you for your replies.

Robb,

Yes, he said to not open the ports:
    135/tcp (endpoint mapper)
1024/tcp or similar* (where openchange mapiproxy endpoint is bind)
publicly, and to instead setup a vpn.

As I understand it, RPC over HTTP is the correct way to connect exchange over the internet and does not cause any security issues.

Someone did ask about this here:
https://forum.zentyal.org/index.php?topic=19010.0

but there is no reply.

That is why I am asking, maybe I am missing a configuration step somewhere.  Or, maybe there is no secure way to do this via Zentyal yet? (without a vpn).

Thank you

Robb,

Thank you for the reply.  Can you clarify which ports are ok to have publicly open for exchange?

Thank you

Installation and Upgrades / OpenChange exchange connect remotely?
« on: March 06, 2014, 07:54:49 pm »
Hi,

I can connect my outlook to openchange in zentyal with no problem when I am on the local zentyal network.  I want to be able to connect my home pc outlook to exchange as well.  My home pc is not on the zentyal lan.

Is this possible?  I have searched the forums and read all the docs I can find, and I am not able to connect via my home network.  I tried all firewall changes on zentyal (even off).. and no luck.

Any thoughts?

Thank you

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Authenticate users against SOGo

Hyperbaba,

Thank you for your reply.  I wonder if this only works with 3.3.2.  We already had 3.3.3 installed.. and we followed your directions.. and we got the dreaded:

apache can not load php-mapi module
PHP Warning:  PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626/mapi.so' - /usr/lib/libicalmapi.so.1: undefined symbol: _ZTIN7details18iconv_context_baseE in Unknown on line 0

error.  So, we upgraded to 3.3.4, and had the same issue.  as mentioned here:
http://forum.zentyal.org/index.php/topic,19414.0/prev_next,prev.html#new

Have you tried this with 3.3.3 or 3.3.4?  Or, any ideas on this other than reverting all the way back to 3.3.2?

Thank you

hyperbaba,

Any chance you could give the rest of us some tips on how you did this?  I have been unable to find any information on how to find the sogo web interface:
"sogo web interface (which I have exposed by creating apache conf for that purpose)"

I am sure many of us would love to know how you got this to where you can use activesync on your mobile device.

Thank you

Installation and Upgrades / OpenChange firewall ports
« on: February 03, 2014, 07:55:04 pm »
Hi All,

We have installed Zentyal with OpenChange and it seems to be working fine.

When I go to join a MS Outlook PC to Zentyal (this: http://labs.zentyal.org/part-ii-install-configure-zentyals-technology-preview-of-native-ms-exchange-replacement/)

It fails.  If I turn off the firewall, it syncs up great.  So, how can I find out exactly which firewall ports OpenChange needs to work with Outlook?  I would rather not just guess which ports it needs.

Thank you

Hi,

I have Zentyal 3.3.4 installed and it says there are no additional updates available.  I went into components, selected: OpenChange Server and pressed install.

I get this error:

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
zentyal-openchange : Depends: openchangeserver (>= 2:2.0+zentyal1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: openchange-ocsmanager (>= 2:2.0+zentyal1) but it is not going to be installed

Any ideas?
