587 is running on TLS? If yes and it will work ( I'll check it in minutes ) how come it isn't on 465 which is SSL?

EDIT:
Now I've set the thunderbird profile up, and now... no error messages, only nothing happens on the clients. The cert was asked to download or not ( obviously I downloaded it ), but then when I try to send a test message from 1 user to another, there is no error message, but the mail is lost.
Settings are now as following:
Incoming: IMAP, host.domain.hu, port:993, SSL/TLS, Normal password
Outgoing:  SMTP, host.domain.hu, port:465, STARTTLS, Normal password

Thunderbird somehow and somewhy in automatic recognision thinks that the IMAP has Kerberos authentication. Is that good or bad now? :D

I created a Cert for Mail useage first. Then ( at the moment ) I enabled both IMAP, SIMAP, SMTP and SSMTP in the Mail section. When I try to set up Thunderbird, I can now give you the proper error message. It sais: Thunderbird couldn't find mailbox settings. I use the following settings in Thunderbird:
Name: Obvious
Email: username@domain.hu
Password: user passwor
Incoming: IMAP, host.domain.hu, port:993, SSL/TLS, Normal password
Outgoing:  SMTP, host.domain.hu, port:465, SSL/TLS, Normal password
Username: username

For username I also tried username@domain.hu but didn't work. The funny thing is: If I click on test or retest button, it is telling me the error message mentioned above. But if I click on the Finnish button, then it requests me to download the certification what I gladly do. However the user can't sent any messages. It gives a timed out error for SMTP server. This story is getting very strange for me.

Oh, and yes, I'm using Zentyal FW. Obviously :)

Hello there,

I have a problem with seting up SSMTP and SIMAP on my Zentyal server. On the clients we have Thunderbird, and whenever I want to connect it to the server, it sais "couldn't find server settings" ( or something similar, sorry my thunderbird is in Hungarian language ). However, if I enable simple IMAP and SMTP in Mail or in Groupware, then it is OK, but I need the secured channels for my mail server ( I remove simple IMAP and SMTP always and allow only Secured IMAP + Secured SMTP in mail). Something with the firewall maybe? Am I setting the server up wrong or the Thunderbird is set up badly? I need the 465 and the 585 ports?

Thank you for your answers in advance.

Bert

Magyar / Secure IMAP és Secure SMTP nem működik [MEGOLDVA]
« on: May 17, 2013, 10:26:31 am »

Imi

Thank you mate. I kept forgeting the "zen." tag from the begining. Now it works wonderfull. One more question if you don't mind :)

Could be that something is wrong with the setting because the user have to add every other user on the network one by one. I though that I simply log on and I'll be able to see every user currently online/not online. Or this is normal?

Ok, trying ATM:

Edit: Got the cert, but still unable to join. I think I might set up the TB profile wrong. I've tried for username the "username" and "username@domain.hu", tried to set the host to "host.domain.hu, "domain.hu" and even left it blank. For port both 5222 and 5223 is not functioning.

I found this and this link, but I think they're out of date because the creation of an XMPP user is not like this ( no server name required for example )

Do you know a good Step-by-step tutorial for the latest TB?

Edit2: Pidgin works fine for the 1st try and the TB chat works with Facebook and Google accounts.

Unfortunatelly I already tried that. Doesn't want to work for me. Imported the cert from the server manually and set them to fully thrusted and nothing changed.

Here are my Jabber setting on the server:

And the error message on TB:

The system is Hungarian. It sais: Error: The host closed the connection. Trying to reconnect in 15 seconds.

Installation and Upgrades / Jabber + Thunderbird + Cert

Hello Guys,

I'm currently trying to set up a nice mail server with groupware, firewall, cert, etc, etc. Currently what works is the AD, webmail. ( I'm at the begining yet)
I just tried to set jabber up and working. On the clients I use Thunderbird and for XMPP chat I installed "Additional chat protocols for thunderbird" and Pidgin just to make sure. Currently the users are allowed to use Jabber. I set up Jabber to use SSL and when  I try to connect with Thunderbird I get the following error: "The owner of the certificaion makred as non-thrusted" ( maybe not the exact same message, I use a differend language ). How could I deploy the cert to the clients automaticly and make Thunderbird to accept it as thrusted? Is this the only problem what I've done?

Please ask me more if I didn't tell you all information for this problem.

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards:
Imre Bertalan

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Joining Zentyal with Ubuntu
« on: April 09, 2012, 02:14:53 pm »
Of course not. I tried to join from the client.

Is that possinble to user a router that gives the IP addresses and the clients using it to access, the internet, BUT, the user authentication and shared folders ( with SambaPDC ) comes from the "zen"? If so, then what changed do I have to make on the clients?
At every startup, on the clients, the resolv.conf file is empty. I can make it unwriteable and add nameserver and search, but with no luck.
The strange thing is: When I login to the client with a simple user created on the machine, then start up nautilus, I can see the shared folders, but I can access them only with the users FROM the zen server. So the only problem is that the zen users just can't login on the clients. The shared folders work fine.
BTW: I tried if I remove the DNS zenwork from DNS services and the network sharing still works. I gues I don'T need that if I have SambaPDC installed.

Ok, so....

When I try to join the server with Likewise I get the following error in an instant:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/120408/pic1_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg

As you can see, in the backgrount I tried to lookup the server with nslookup. I get 3 different error with the 3 different DNS names.
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/120408/pic2_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg

The followings are in Hungarian, but everything is at the same place where it is in your language.

The server computers name is "zen". I created a DNS name called "zenwork"
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/120408/pic3_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg

Under LDAP I see the following:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/120408/pic4_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg

Under File Share:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/120408/1280892195pic5_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg

Am I trieing to join the wrong domain name? Under windows I join "zenworks". It works flawlesly, with no problem.

Installation and Upgrades / Joining Zentyal with Ubuntu

Hello there,

I've a problem and I need your help.

I have a Zentyal 2.2 server with DNS, FileShare, Users&Groups ... Made a DNS called "zenwork". The comuters name is "zen" and the IP address is recieved from a DHCP server. Made 3 users, one of them with Administrative rights.
I have Ubuntu and Windows clients in the network, who also recieves their IP addresses from the DHCP server. The Windows clients can join the "zenwork" domain with no problem with the administrative user.
On Ubuntu 11.10 I don't know how to jin the domain. Tried Likewise with no luck.
/etc/resolve.conf
nameserver 192.168.56.103
search zenwork

/etc/nsswitch.conf
passwd: files ldap lsass
group: files ldap lsass
shadow: files ldap lsass
...
...

The Zentyal on the LDAP site sais:
Base DN: dc=zen
Root DN: cn=ebox,dc=zen

My goal is:
At the Ubuntu startup, when login screen appears I want the network users to be able to log in without being created on the client computer.

Hi there!

I have the same issue with Zentyal 2.2. Windows clients can join the domain with no problem, but Likewise on Ubuntu just don't seem to work. Same DNS error appears for me.
