News and Announcements / Re: Zentyal 4.0 Roadmap Published!
« on: September 24, 2014, 11:50:45 pm »
I was one of those who wondered what happened to Zentyal. Modules that disappeared one by one. A little stressed we wondered which way we should go with Zentyal. Before we used Zentyal 2.2 as main server.

We bought a QNAP TS-420U and installed zentyal 3.5 server on a computer and through Active Directory joined QNAP to zentyal server. I think zentyal is very good as replacement for Microsoft Small Business Server.

We have web server and ftp in QNAP and zentyal is working very well as replacement for Microsoft Small Business Server.

So for me i think somehow the Zentyal team is on the right way with 4.0.

Good luck Zentyal team with the release of 4.0. We will go for Zentyal.

Sorry for my little half bad English.  :)

Greetings from Sweden.

Sorry for the late answer, but it works a little better but not as fast as Zentyal 2.2 was. Thankyou again.  :)

:) Thank you so much. I will try it out and post the results here when i have tried your suggestion.

Have a nice day.

Installation and Upgrades / Browse Samba Share is extremely slow
« on: June 13, 2013, 11:00:25 am »

Since we installed Zentyal 3 on our webserver its terrible slow to browse a samba share. At the time we use smoothwall as firewall but planning to move over to Zentyal 3 in the near future.

We did not havve this problem with the old version 2.2

Installed the new version on our webserver and we always used FTP with "Enable authenticated FTP access to each user home directory".

But now this option give users access to whole file system.

Is there anything we missed?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Group Policy Problems
« on: March 22, 2013, 11:02:24 am »

I have exactly the same problem.

Reinstalled the server and updated everything and it seems that everything is working like expected now. Thanks zentyal team. And thanks to everyone in this forum for the help.

appreciate the time you have spent to help me, i managed to join the domain only with the built in administrator account. Not with the accounts i have added manually to the "Domain Admins" group.

Hi again!

Thankyou both for the answers but i am still in trouble to get this to work. Is there anyone who have a clue? what could be the problem. Thankyou again.

Thanks for you reply.

We have used Zentyal 2.X for many years without any problem, a week ago the old server crashed and we replaced it with a new one with zentyal 3. So the installation is completely new.

I will try the information that you gave and see whats going on.

Thank you again.

I am facing a weired problem while join client to zentyal 3 domain.
I get following following error message:
"The join operation was not successful. The could be because an existing computer account having the name xxxx was previously created using a different set of credentials. Use a different computer name or contact your administrator to remove any stale conflicting raccount. The error was: Access is denied."

How to disable directory listing  for a Virtualhost on Apache on a good way or to use .htaccess file in public_html folder.

Thanks for your help.

Installation and Upgrades / /var/lib/zentyal/postgresql/8.4/main
« on: May 24, 2012, 01:20:00 pm »

Our /var/lib/zentyal/postgresql/8.4/main directory is 45Gb. So now we have very little space left on our root disk. And why is this directory taking up so much space?

I have a Zentyal box running as webserver

I can go to http://192.168.x.x (the IP address of the linux box), and display the Apache Test Page. However, when I try to go to http://192.168.x.x/~gallery/index.html , it returns a 403 Forbidden error.

The index.html file currently resides within /home/gallery/public_html/

What can be wrong?
