« on: September 26, 2013, 03:34:06 pm »
hello,
I mainly used zentyal 3.0 for firewall and proxy.
Recently i notice that my HDD get full and found that database size of mysql is almost 40GB.
Is there any why i can purge this database and configure mysql in way that is can not go upto 40 GB.
I had attached image that list files of mysql service.
Thanks
Jayesh

Installation and Upgrades / Re: zentyal as proxy server give slow responce with 300 users

Hi Christian
You are right, it is IO handling capacity of VMware which is bottleneck.
I moved to physical machine and now it is giving better performance then vmware.
Thanks for your help.

My Observation are
1. With proxy and without proxy, nothing much difference in performance. But with less users performance is good and with more users performance is slow.
2. When I perform a copy operation (for example log file copy from one folder to other) performance is drastically reduce and I/O wait is also more up to 50%. Same thing happens when some internal scheduled like log related or mysql related will going on net is almost dead with higher % in I/O and back to normal when that process end.
I had connect 2 broadband connection of 6 MBPS each in zentyal and use them in load sharing.

Hi,
I am using zentyal as proxy server for 300 user. my configuration are as follows:
install in VMware
CPU : Xeon 3.0 Ghz (8 core given to zentyal)
RAM : 8 GB
HDD : 80 GB (single spindle)
10 different ip based groups defined with 10 filter policy.
I am getting good repose in surfing when users are less, but when number of users are at peak surfing is very poor.
output of top command is attached
Can any one have same problem resolved ?
