Installation and Upgrades / Re: waiting until zentyal is ready
« on: October 18, 2014, 08:35:19 am »
Lol, I fixed it myself!
The Zentyal DNS died and I found issues with the Ubuntu MergeList.
I repaired both and the server is back up and running again

Installation and Upgrades / waiting until zentyal is ready
« on: October 17, 2014, 08:22:40 pm »
Gents,
I rebooted my server and get this message: "waiting until zentyal is ready" and there it stops!
When i run sudo service zentyal webadmin restart I get the following error;
Encountered a section with no Package: header
Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/za.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise-updates_universe_binary-amd64_Packages
The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
* Restarting Zentyal module: webadmin [fail]
Cannot create software packages cache. Make sure that your sources and preferences files in /etc/apt are readable and retry
How on earth do I solve this problem and get my server back up and running?
I really need my e-mail and contacts
Nico

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Zentyal 3.5 Mail retrieval from external accounts

Yes please, I support bwf.it35218.
Please give a way to configure fetchmail in the GUI.
As far as I was concerned the idea of retrieving external mail was one of the BEST ideas in the package and I will miss it dearly if it does not come back.
Anyway if fecthmail is in the system how hard can it be to put a small link in the GUI?

Mr Calvo, thanks for answering this question of mine.
As communicated direct with head office it is a bit of a problem for me as I was really hoping of implementing Zentyal, "as it was", for a specific customer that requires exactly this feature.
At least I now know where I stand and can therefore compensate for this change in the Zentyal package.

Thanks,
I have 3.5 running but until yesterday OpenChange kept on dying so that's why I went back to 3.4 and got the .6 update.
It seems 3.5's OpenChange is behaving now (I hope!?) (after its last update)
I don't mind staying on 3.5 if you help me a bit.
- All I really want is a working OpenChange mail server solution where internal and external devices including PC's, laptops, tablets & smart phones can connect and collaborate
I will mail you ASAP
Nico

« on: June 15, 2014, 12:34:44 pm »
Hey Stuart,
I finally dumped Z-Push (on V.3.4.6) last night. After all the tinkering it still refuses to authenticate!?
Installed SoGo Active Sync... it authenticates but dies after the initial sync. At least OpenChange does not die with it like last time.
Would you mind helping me troubleshoot it?
I would really like to get it working, please
Nico

Can someone please explain why I still have to change this manually?
To set "x-webojects-server-url" "https://<% $hostname %>:<% $sslPort %>" with my external host name before I can get to SoGo web mail from outside the LAN
Is it really that difficult to fix in the code, not that important to you or is this a new philosophy that every remote user must now use the VPN at all times when they want mail?

Has this feature been removed or must I wait a few days for an update to see this again?

Thanks again Stuart,
Well my trusted old V3.2 with Zarafa still works like a charm, that was a good build for me too.
Do not worry, I have been talking with Zentyal Head Office a lot lately and can report that they are really trying hard to fix the issues for us.
I just get frustrated waiting and that's why I come to the forum but alas it seems we are mostly in the same boat here.
As for 3.5 ... I think I will just wait a bit longer before going the beta route.

Thanks for the reply Stuart
I have no idea what version I was on (with the community edition) when Z-Push last worked. I am just guessing V3.4.3.
Never tried it with V3.4.4 because of the "line 50" firewall issue and I waited until now to try again.
FYI. I also have the latest build of the Commercial edition of Zentyal with OpenChange (Zarafa is not installed) and I use Z-Push with it and it works perfectly.
Plus SoGo's active sync seems to be a problem everywhere. Stopped bothering with it for now, just not worth the hassle anymore.
I Can't wait for V3.5 and beyond either. I am really tired of V 3.4 and its problems.

Anybody know how to troubleshoot this or have a fix please?
Z-push does not accept the username and password anymore!?
Tried, https://<serverip>/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync & received this error....
Z-Push - Open Source ActiveSync
Version SVN-trunk-r1797
AuthenticationRequiredException
Access denied. Username or password incorrect
I have uninstalled and reinstalled it.
Even tried SoGo ActiveSync but it only syncs once then dies
