Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal Cloud Dynamic DNS IP update ISSUE
« on: November 08, 2011, 01:50:24 pm »
Hi to all,

I'm using Zentyal 2.2 with the cloud system and I use to connect from remote site using MYSERVERNAME.zentyal.me !

My office have dynamic ip address, but in the last month i had never a reboot so my ip is not changed from the first time that i connected to the cloud.

Yesterday I had to reboot and now there is that problem:

- if I try to connect to MYSERVERNAME.zentyal.me it is still pointed to my OLD IP ADDRESS
- my server is right connected to the zentyal cloud, and if I login to my cloud page I can see the correct ip address ( Status: Connected (..) , Public IP: 79.35.x.x )
- In my cloud panel, by clicking "Update Log" under "Dynamic DNS" i can see the timestamp of my first connection to zentyal cloud, the host is MYSERVERNAME.zentyal.me, but the Ip address is the old one ( 95.247.*.* ) !

Is there the possibility to force the update of the ip manually ?

Why it have not adjourned my ip with the last ip address? How can I solve ?

Thanks!

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED]Dyndns and interfaces
« on: April 29, 2011, 05:14:31 pm »
Hello,

I'm using Zentyal Gateway, I have 3 network cards with this scenario:

router Telecom (192.168.1.1) <---> Zentyal eth0 (192.168.1.100) external
router Tiscali (192.168.0.1) <---> Zentyal eth1 (192.168.0.100) external
switch Asus <------> Zentyal eth2 (192.168.2.100) internal

On Network->Gateway i've added both routers and I've set Telecom like default.

I need to have 2 dynamic hosts for both my external ips: my Tiscali's router (an Atlantjs) support directly DynDns service, so that's ok, but Telecom's router don't support it, so i need that Zentyal keep updated my Telecom's ip by dyndns.

The problem is that Zentyal much times send to DynDns.org the IP of tiscali (eth1) interface, how can I tell to Zentyal to use only the telecom (eth0) interface to update my address ?

I thought that I can modify ddclient.conf, or adding on iptables a rule to redirect all HTTP (or dyndns2?) traffic by eth0, but before to do that I wanna know if zentyal can do it directly!

Thanks,
Lorenzo

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED]DHCP Leases
« on: April 23, 2011, 05:13:56 pm »
Hello,

I'm using Zentyal server like gateway+office, that's the situation:

router Telecom (192.168.1.1) <---> Zentyal eth0 (192.168.1.100) external
router Tiscali (192.168.0.1) <---> Zentyal eth1 (192.168.0.100) external
switch Asus <------> Zentyal eth2 (192.168.2.100) internal

I'm using 2 ADSL in load balancing, and my LAN's addresses are 192.168.2.0/24.

All worked correctly since today I've configured on eth2 the DHCP module, to assing in auto ips 192.168.2.1-50 to a group of PC postations.

First problem: when I connect some PC's to the Switch, i try to obtain the IP by DHCP from zentyal, but it cannot obtain this and pc get an ip like 169.164.....

The only cause that can I thought is that each router's (tiscali and alice) have a proper DHCP service, that I can't stop (blocked router from providers), so when a new pc try to discover a dhcp , it has some problems from those 3 dhcp service....

Second problem: after some times I've activated DHCP, eth2 (the interface who manage internal network) of my Zentyal server logged in DHCP and results in the list of leases, losing his originally and static IP 192.168.2.100, and he got 192.168.2.1!

Look:
DHCP leases
IP address    MAC address    Host name
192.168.2.1    00:1c:c4:5f:6e:36    doss-srv

How can is possible that the server is using his DHCP ??

I hope someone should help me to understand,

Thanks a lot,
Lorenzo

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED]How to change Domain Name
« on: April 10, 2011, 04:47:15 am »
Hello,

I am using a Zentyal Server with Gateway and Office components.

I'm trying to change the Domain Name, and the documentation tell that I have to go on "Users and Groups ‣ Mode" and change it (like in the image)

But in my administration window I cannot find the entry "mode" under the "users and groups", that is my LDAP Infos:

LDAP Settings
LDAP information
Base DN:    dc=doss-srv,dc=homenet,dc=telecomitalia,dc=it
Root DN:    cn=ebox,dc=doss-srv,dc=homenet,dc=telecomitalia,dc=it
Password:    ...
Users DN:    ou=Users,dc=doss-srv,dc=homenet,dc=telecomitalia,dc=it
Groups DN:    ou=Groups,dc=doss-srv,dc=homenet,dc=telecomitalia,dc=it

Please someone can explain to me how can I do this?

Thanks,
Lorenzo

Installation and Upgrades / zentyal & mail backup
« on: March 28, 2011, 02:33:24 am »
Hello,

first, special thanks to Zentyal developers for the good work.

I'm thinking about to setup a Zentyal server to manage the network of a little office (c.a. 10 pc).

Actually i'm using a Debian server with samba+iptables+squid, to manage http traffic, printers and files. There is no PDC.

I try to explane you the scenario:

They (stakeholders) use a remote mail server, and there is a traffic of c.a 100 email daily, from 7 different mail addresses.

I need to centralize the backup of all mail accounts, but (actually) I can't set-up the Zentyal as Mail Server and I have to continue using the remote one!

Now every pc has his personal backup on external drive of PST archive (outlook) and there are like 30Gb of archive totally.

I hope I was clear enough, I remain waiting for your kind advice,

Lorenzo
