hehehehe,
tried for the "n-th" time to install and set zentyal. i'm not lucky...
installed only network, after that dns, dhcp, firewall and ntp. setup dns aaaaaaaaaaand: no more modules to install!.... great, right?
i have no words... really...

it doesn't work with multiple domains... 
l.e.: decided to keep ubuntu server as gateway and dns server and move email to windows exchange

installed once again, but noticed some mistakes. right now i try to change scripts to met my requirements.
first of all, installed only network and firewall. it asked me about the domain only at very begining after hostname. now tried to add modeules: added dns. no domains found here. added my domain, created reverse zone. on file /etc/hosts still internal domain configured on install (lbs.lan). added a new real name domain (my wife domain): surprise! reverse zone seems to point to her domain!... wtf?... waiting now to install mail services.
installed. nothing special. seems to be ok.
i have an ideea: i will install everything, start everything, but after that i will stop the modules and start separate services in command line.
i will tell you if i succeed.

ok, first of all thanks for the answers. now all the infos.
until now used to use ubuntu since 2007: all editions installed and set by me. all of them worked like a charm.
now i want to use zentyal and tried (as i've write on top) zentyal 3.3 (even 3.4 daily). on both, when installing the installer asked me about hostname and domain (as in ubuntu installer...)
@balauro: after first reboot, i have hostname "zentyal" and domain "lbs.lan". in dns tab added ".ro" domain, external IP for fqdn domain, changed hostname in "ns" (like in my registrar data), mx points to "ns" (i don't have other option in mx section from dns tab, if i try to add ns.domain.ro or only domain.ro it won't let me), automatically in nameserver section i have "ns". added also www and mail as CNAME (alias) checked with my functional ubuntu server and seems they aren't identical...
question: where can i find zentyal scripts to change somehow there?
@cnservices: tried also to read documentation, but don't help me...

once again: in zentyal webbased administration, dns service, mail service, webserver service and so on, started.
checked on command line with "ps" command and all processes are started.
unfortunately dns lookup for my real name domain don't work.
on cli on internal server if i check dig it shows ok, but on external server same dig give nothing...
if i switch my server to my old ubuntu (save god i don't reinstalled my old server!!!!!!!!!!!) everything works!
now is enough detailed for you to help me?

hello everyone,
just read it the docs for 3.3, but my zentyal still don't work.
i know that all of you are very smart guys, but i'm not! i still can't do zentyal to work!!!!!!!!!!!! this drices me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!
can anybody help me with:
- dns setup for a couple of domains
- mail setup for a couple of domains
- www setup for a couple of domains
until now i've worked with ubuntu and has all these services up and runing.
tried to use zentyal, especially for openchange, but it seems it don't works for me...
just read it the docs for 3.3, but my zentyal still don't work.

i'm very dissapointed, really: nobody answer me. try to install, to reinstall and to setup zentyal as my primary gateway, email server, web server, ftp server and so on but without luck:
- dns don't work!!!!!!!!!!! it don't point to my real domain name!!!!!!!!!!!!
- email server don't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it say domain can't be reached!!!!!!!
- tried to reach webmail: where is it?
it can't be found!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i use a fqdn domain (i bought the domain - "domain.ro"), i have static public ip. right now i switched back to ubuntu server and it works, but i want to try to use zentyal, for the openchange module...

the 3.4 version mentioned is the same with the one whi will come on 15 of march?

hello,
tried to install zentyal 3.3, but failed... it's fifth time when i try to install but no luck... i have problems with dns first of all...
so, my first question is: when i install zentyal, it ask me about hostname and domain. i have already an ubuntu server which works. tried to put "zentyal" as hostname, butwhat domain i must write here? the real one or an internal domain? i'm ask because tried to put here the real one and in webadmin an internal one, viceversa, but every time got errors with dns. when i make a search for the domain in mxtoolbox got errors... really i don't know what to do more...
when i switch again to ubuntu server it works...
please help me!...
