Email and Groupware / Mail Log Blank
« on: December 23, 2016, 04:10:49 pm »
Running 5.0.1 development

Is anyone else having an issue with the mail log?  I have been sending and receiving mail but the mail log never populates. I can see the records in /var/log/mail.log but the report in Zentyal never populates.

Email and Groupware / Zentyal 5 Spam Filter?
« on: December 19, 2016, 04:12:51 am »
Were the antispam and antivirus mail filters removed from Zentyal 5?

If so what are people using as alternatives?

Thanks

Email and Groupware / [SOLVED] Where is webmail?
« on: December 16, 2016, 07:31:25 pm »
I'm going to apologize upfront if this is a stupid question but what it the link to webmail on a Zentyal 5.0 box?

I have run Zentyal 4 for a few years and I just setup a Zentyal 5 box. In Zentyal 4 the link to webmail was always https://server_ip/sogo however that does not work in Zentyal 5.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Installation and Upgrades / Provisioning OpenChange
« on: November 29, 2016, 05:11:54 am »
I have 2 new servers both running Zentyal 4.2.2 fully updated.

Server 1
Name: WIS1
Function: PDC

Server 2
Name: WIS2
Function: BDC and Email Server

I have both servers up and running however when I attempt to install the OpenChange module on the email server (WIS2) and I enter a Schema Admin account in the setup I get an error thats states "Error provisioning: Missing user and/or password for provision".

Has anyone seen this before? I have tried a Schema Admin account and I have tried a Domain Admin account and both produce the same error.

Thanks for the help.

Hi everyone. My zentyal system has been emailing me the alert below every 5 min for the past few days. What is the problem and how should I fix it?  I assume it talking about some sort of domain controller sync problem however I haven't noticed an issue.

My system is running Zentyal 4.1.1 fully updated. It servers as a mail server and backup domain controller.  My primary domain controller is a Windows 2008 R2 machine.

Cron <root@fbwpa2> /usr/share/zentyalsamba/slavesync

Installation and Upgrades / Mail to root from root [SOLVED]
« on: May 27, 2015, 08:30:52 pm »
In my mail log I'm seeing mail from the root account, to the root account.  It happens every few minutes all day long. What is causing this? I have no root mailbox. Below is an entry from the mail.log file and attached is a screenshot of the log in Zentyal.  I'm currently running Zentyal 4.1.1 that is fully updated.

Installation and Upgrades / Cannot reactivate Antispam filter
« on: March 20, 2015, 09:22:38 pm »
Hello. I have a weird issue. I was using Zentyal mail server with the antispam feature activated. The antispam feature has been working great for months.  Then I deactivated the antispam filter for a short time by unchecking the "Antispam Enabled" checkbox on the "SMTP Mail Filter" page to do some testing. Now I have rechecked the "Antispam Enabled" checkbox to reactivate the filter but it is not working.

If I check the SMTP filter logs it shows "There are no logs for this domain" and if I check the mail logs I can see the Zentyal mail server is allowing spam mail through.  Is there anything else I should be doing or checking? Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I'm running a fully up to date Zentyal 4.0.6.

Thanks.

Installation and Upgrades / Plaintext authentication POP3
« on: March 17, 2015, 11:30:29 pm »
Is there anyway to enable plaintext authentication for POP3?

I have edited the /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf file to allow plaintext but when I restart the service my changes are removed.

disable_plaintext_auth = yes
changed to
disable_plaintext_auth = no

Installation and Upgrades / Disappearing Inbox Mail
« on: January 06, 2015, 03:34:42 am »
Hi everyone. I have an issue... I'm not sure if its a Zentyal problem or an Outlook problem.

Server: Zentyal 4.0.5 fully updated with OpenChange configured and enabled
Client: Windows 7 with Office 2013

I have Outlook set to connect via OpenChange (MAPI) and Outlook is in cache mode. When I open Outlook it defaults to show the inbox however when Outlook first opens it shows no email. If I wait about 30 seconds the email will show up. Then if I wait another 30 seconds they disappear again. Then if I wait another 30 seconds it comes back.  This continues endlessly.  If I try to click on one of the emails (when they are visible) it won't open.  If I click into another folder and then back into the inbox I can then open emails but it still continues to cycle. If I turn off cache mode then nothing will show up in the inbox.

Any suggestions? This issue is driving me crazy!

Thanks.

Installation and Upgrades / Where is mail stored Zentyal 3.5?
« on: August 03, 2014, 04:27:49 am »
Hi everyone. I'm running Zentyal 3.5 with the OpenChange module.  I have about 12 users accessing their email through the system.  Each user has a few thousand emails. If I look at disk usage it says the mailboxes occupy about 3 GB.  I have begun using the sogo backup tool but I have noticed that the back up files for each user are very small. Usually only 200-500kb. I thought the tool was supposed to backup mail as well as settings but I guess I'm wrong. So where exactly is the mail being stored in the file system? Does anyone have any suggestions for backup?

Thanks for the help.

Chad

Installation and Upgrades / Not being notified by events
« on: August 01, 2014, 07:16:05 pm »
Hello. I have Zentyal 3.5 up and running and I have configured the dispatcher and event log to notify me via email when an email comes into the system and the  intended recipient doesn't exist.  It seemed to work well for a day then just stopped and I can't get it to notify me anymore.  Has anyone else seen this issue? Is this possibly a feature that is only available via the commercial edition?

Thanks for the help,
Chad

Installation and Upgrades / Outlook Inbox Refresh OpenChange
« on: July 15, 2014, 04:09:09 pm »
Hi everyone. I'm looking at implementing Zentyal 3.5 with the OpenChange module. I've been testing with a mix of Outlook 2003 and 2010 clients and I'm finding that the Outlook Inbox never refreshes automatically. The only way to get it to refresh is to close Outlook and reopen.

I can see that this was a past issue and was supposed to be resolved by 3.5. In fact the Zentyal roadmap even comments that 3.5 supports automatic inbox refresh.  Is anyone else still seeing this problem?  Is there a fix yet?

Thanks for the help.
