Installation and Upgrades / what is the latest mail and user corner update doing?
« on: August 10, 2014, 12:37:27 pm »
Hi,
I updated everything to Zentyal 3.5.2 recently, which was a bit of a hassle, a few days ago, and now two more modules are recommended to being updated: Mail module and user corner.
But I don't know exactly what the update is going to do, and I fear troubles.
So I won't do the update until I know what will happen - will anything be removed, etc.?
Please, let me know what the update is doing.

Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal upgrade 3.3 -> 3.5 - external mail fetching gone? crontab errors? fix?
« on: August 05, 2014, 06:09:59 pm »
Hi,
I upgraded from Zentyal 3.3 to 3.4 and immidely to 3.5.2 today; now, Zentyal does not fetch external mails, which is totally essential to me.
I noticed that I got some mails with errors:

German / email password nicht geändert?
« on: May 30, 2014, 03:37:40 pm »
Folgende Konfiguration:
* Jeder User hat einen lokalen Account: user1, user2, user@lokaldomain.lan
* Kerberos/Samba rennt
* Eine lokale Domäne lokaldomain.lan existiert
* user1@lokaldomain.lan
---> der User1 holt externe mails von GMX.DE ab
---> landen am lokalen Zentyal-Server, welcher sie abholt
---> zum *ANTWORTEN* existiert im Thunderbird eine Zweitidentität : "userX@externe-domain.COM" der wird nur zum VERSENDEN verwendet, ist aber die Standardidentität des users "userX@lokaledomain.LAN" !
Was nun?

Installation and Upgrades / Backup system does not backup mounted other drive
« on: February 20, 2014, 07:00:01 pm »
Hello,
I have mounted some drive (/dev/sdc1) at /mnt/data1.
I want Zentyal to include this directory, /mnt/data1, for backupping.
Unfortunately, I saw that the backup system only backs up files from anything else but from extra mounted drives.
Is there anything that I can do about it ?

Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal backup seems to skip external mounted drives to backup

Hi,
I tried the webinterface to issue a scheduled backup at 18:00 today, and I found out that it would not backup the data from the external drive /mnt/data1 to the FTP-backup server (192.168.x.y:/home/Zentyal)
What *was* backed up, were the other directories I selected.
Any help ?

Installation and Upgrades / [solved] kerberos-login faulty?
« on: February 18, 2014, 02:25:34 pm »
Hello,
I _once_ logged in to my local Win-7-client using the Kerberos System by the local Zentyal server.
Later, I found a local user was created on the harddisk of the Win-7-client; which is not what I wanted to do.
Thus, I simply deleted the c:\users\<username> directory and all its subdirectories.
Maybe that was a mistake. :-(
Now, everytime I try to login as "any kerberos user from the zentyal server" on the Win-7-client, I get the error:
"You were logged on with a temporary profile".
I already deleted all registry keys in HKLM\SW\MS\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList - this does not help me in any way, the error still persists: I can log in on the client, but I am always assigned a temporary profile.
I also installed the Microsoft RSAT Tools on the Win7 client, but they refuse to connect to the Zentyal server.
Any advice of just what to do to get my normal Kerberos login back?
At the moment, "klist" only says:
C:\Users\TEMP>klist
Aktuelle Anmelde-ID ist 0:0x75465c
Zwischengespeicherte Tickets: (0)
So, no kerberos-tickets for me, for some unknown reason.
Any advice of just what to do to get a normal, working, kerberos login, is appreciated!

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED] where is the rest of my crypto_luks file system and how to use it?
« on: February 13, 2014, 04:16:16 pm »
Hello,
I told Zentyal to ask for a passphrase for the crypted drive since he installed himself to a crypted drive.
fdisk looks like this:
I decided to use about 113 GB for the main system:
df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/srv01--vg-root 113G 2,3G 105G 3% /
Now, where are the other unused (500GB-113GB) from the drive gone to, and how can I use them, manually?
I would love to add another crypted partition in that space somehwere (crypted with some other passphrase and other crypt mechanism). Is that possible, and if so, how to do it ?

« on: February 12, 2014, 04:53:40 pm »
Folgendes:
Irgendwelche tips ?

Hello,
Finally, Zentyal fetches my mail from external accounts and puts it to some internal account. Hooray!
But, answering these mails, something goes wrong when sending these mails.
Here is the error log:

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED] howto edit bootloader config so as to get cmd-prompt of harddisk pwd?
« on: February 11, 2014, 04:36:40 pm »
Hello,
Finally, I reinstalled Zentyal 3.3 to a server board (Microsystem, Dual Xeon, .... LSI Megaraid Raid system).
I was selecting "encrypt partition with password" since it contains sensitive information.
However, that was also the problem, because the boot loader switches to Graphics mode (VGA) and thus I cannot read the prompt where I could enter the harddisk password.
Thus, my option is heretofore to edit the boot commands in the GRUB boot editor:
menuentry 'Ubuntu, with Linux 3.8.0-29-generic' --class ubuntu --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
recordfail
* gfxmode $linux_gfx_mode ----------> I removed this line
insmod gzio
insmod part_msdos
insmod ext2
set root='(hd0,msdos1)'
search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root 6190180d-bb5c-4859-8e58-7a7a23fb4d32
* linux /vmlinuz-3.8.0-29-generic root=/dev/mapper/srv01--vg-root ro quiet splash $vt_handoff
initrd /initrd.img-3.8.0-29-generic
Also I removed the option "quiet splash" from the "linux /vmlinuz...." line.
I guess it is very un-elegant to manually edit the boot menu each time you reboot the server.

Thus: Which options do I have to edit the boot menu? The file "boot/grub/grub.cfg" clearly stated: "DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE", so I will not; I'll rather have the server running at the mo.
Please let me know how to properly edit the grub boot menu in Zentyal.

Installation and Upgrades / Heeeelp me all mails are vanishing and I dont know what to do now
« on: February 10, 2014, 07:51:59 pm »
Hello,
I installed Zentyal 3.3 and all updates on a HP 7800 P Quadcore. Almost all software packets were installed, with the exception of HTTPProxy, Jabber, Layer7-Filtering, Mail-Filter and Radius. All updates to all packets were installed.
Zentyal seems to run fine. Thus, I added some users: "user1" , "user2" @mydomain.lan
I can log in to the webmail interface with http://192.168.0.11/webmail - user1@mydomain.lan can log in fine, so can user2@ etc.
Everything APPEARS to be fine, but isn't. When I send a mail from user1@mydomain.lan to user2@mydomain.lan, it never arrives at user2's mail box. At least that's what it is looking like when I log in to webmail as "user2". Same for user1. No matter how many mails I send from user1 to user2 and vice versa, they never appear in the inbox of that user. Their inbox is always empty.
What can I do? I checked for everything and I cannot find the bug. Any advice where to look for, is appreciated.
