Hallo,
I have a problem afther the installation of a new Zentyal server from scratch.
The server is not installed with the ISO zentyal installation disk but like the description below:
- Installation of Ubuntu server 12.04.3
- Installation of XINIT
- Installation of LXDE
- Installation of Firefox
- Adapted the file sources.list for the Zentyal repositorys.
Apt-get update and apt -get dist-upgrade
- Reboot, server starts normal without any errors.
- Installation of zentyal-office
- Installation of zentyal-infrastructure.
- reboot , server start with folowing errors:
buffer I/O error zram0
This error appears for different blocks.
The Zentyal server works well correctly.
The harddisk is formatted in EXT4 file system and a swap partition.
How can i solve or prevent the buffer I/O errors ?

We work for several years with zentyal file and printserver and it is still working fine.
I wonder if there is a software that we can use under zentyal small busines server so that we can work with remote desktop on our windows clients.
Like remote desktop with windows server and windows clients.

Installation and Upgrades / Printer sharing

Hello,
Still in release 3.1.6
Printer sharing problem.
From the administration GUI select > Printer Sharing > in the menu Printer sharing klik on the link " CUPS Web Interface" results in " Bad request ".
The cups webinterface is not started, either the link is fault or the configuration file cupsd.conf is missing some references.

Hello,
Installation of the latest release 3.1.6 give configuration missing.
Afther installation of the Zentyal server, automatically an initial configuration starts .
In this configuration module it is possible to give static references to the network card.
In this menu there is a gateway field to fill in the gateway ip address, afther configuration an restarting the server the gateway ip is not showing up in the GUI > network > gateway field the ip of the gateway must be fill in again.

Installation and Upgrades / Beta release 3.1.6 group policy

Hello,
In release 3.1.6 i have created users shares and groups.
It is not posible to give access ( GPO ) to a share, by create an ACL only the standard groups defined by Zentyal are showed, the group that i have created does not appears in the list.
It is not posible to give access to a created share an created group.

Installation and Upgrades / user administrator in release 3.1.6

Hello,
I am still testing the beta release 3.1.6
In the administration GUI -> option users the standard user " administrator " is not showed, so i can not adapt his password.
Normaly in previous releases i used the " administrator " user to join computers to the domain of the PDC but than there is a need to give a password on the " administrator " user.

Installation and Upgrades / [Solved] Beta 3.1 administrator GUI

Hello,
Afther uograding release 3.1.5 to release 3.1.6, the administrator GUI works not correct anymore and it is not possible to add or update users.
Updating from 3.1.5 with following instructions:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
Now the new GUI interface appears ( new icons etc )
Thera are still a few items of the Zentyal to upgrade, to done with the command:
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Now the new GUI disappears and the old one appears in stead but it is not possible to add or cange existinf users anymore.

Hello,
I have a problem with the filemanager PCmanFM, in LXDE - Zentyal release 3.0.10
Selecting a cd/dvd result in the error " Option not supported "
Selecting my computer result in the error " Option not supported "
Selecting an external USB hard disk ( NTFS formatted ) result also with the error " Option not supported "
Selecting network result in " Option not supported "
How can i configure the file manager so that i can use the options above ( external USB or e-sata hard disk read and write on the ntfs file system ) ?
Options realy needed to mantain the server.

Samba4 PDC problem,
Afther a new installation of Zentyal ( installer 3.0.1 CD 64 bit, install office and infrastructure modules ) what results in release 3.0.9, it is still not possible to join the domain with Windows Xp an Windows 7 clients aswell.

Installation and Upgrades / Samba 4 Windows clients

Hello,
During some more test with the new release 3.0.3 and Windows clients ( Xp and also Windows 7 ), i found still some problems.
Afther joining the domain , logon of a user to the PDC Zentyal 3.0.3 is verry slow it take more than a few minutes to logon, this was for Windows Xp clients as Windows 7 clients aswell.
Even change some registry settings could not help ( see registry adapting in this forum , for rrelease 2.2 ).
For both clients ( Xp and W7 ) the drive H: was not mapped to the home directory of the logged on user.
In the file smb.conf the reference parameter for drive H: is missing.
On the clients in the windows explorer i do not see the netbios name of the server.
My impression is that there are still some commands missing in the zentyal scripts, when i change somting ( like changing the log on drive from H: to P: )in the administrator gui it was not adapted in the samba configuration file smb.conf.
I also mis the references to the LDAP server in the smb.conf file.
So please check the scripts who executed the changes done in the admin gui, specialy foor the file server module.

Beste,
In Zentyal 3.0.1 ( laatste update van 3.0 ) is het nog steeds niet mogelijk om Zentyal PDC fileserver te gebruiken.
Aanmaken van gebruikers werkt niet, na het invullen van de velden voor het aanmaken van een gebruikers en het saven, verschijnt er een blank pop venster en gebeurt er verder niets de gebruiker wordt niet aangemaakt.
Hetzelfde fenomeen voor het aanmaken van groepen, ook hier verschijnt er aan blank popup venster en gebeurt er verder niets de groep wordt niet aangemaakt.
Shares aanmaken onder zentyal lukt eveneens niett de naam van de gedefinieerder map verschijnt wel in het overzichtsmenu van de shares, de map wordt echter niet aangemaakt.
Het installatie probleem ( selectie van de optie " office " en of " infrastructure " ) is opgelost en werkt nu wel bij een nieuwe installatie.
De voormelde problemen zijn reeds gemeld op het engelstalig forum.

First of all congratulation to the Zentyal team with the new release 3.0
I have installed the new release from the Zentyal iso Cd, the installation works fine without any problem.Now selecting a group of modules to install is ok ( office and infrastructure ) the problem in Rc-1 is solved.
The samba module hase still some errors:
Defining an user afther the fields are filled in, and click on the tab to execute the definitions of the user a blank screen appears and nothing happens the user is not created.
Defining a group hase the same problem, afther fill in the fields and click on the tab to create the group a blank screen appears and the group is not created.
Defining a share ( zentyal share not a specifique other map ), the share definitions appears in the menu but the map is not created.

In the file sharing option menu on the zentyal administrator interface, give problems when adapting some general settings and save them. The popup menu with the progress of the saving, stays at saving DNS module 3 of 4 is executed and the saving is not finished.

Hello,
I just try to install the latest beta release 64 bit of the Rc1 of Zentyal 3.0.
The installation from ISO cd still does not work ( it was already the same problem in the previous beta release ).
When f.i. selecting the options " Office " and " infrastructure " from the install menu, the system report the number of actions to take and show the actions bar of the installations advancing but the menu stay still nothing happens anymore.
So it is not possible to install the Rc1 release with the install menu.
The only way to install Zentyal is first install only the netwek option, and then afther a reboot you are able to install the other options ( office etc ).
