Hi,
I have a new clean install of Zentyal 3.4 I have openchange, mail and both webmail (Roundcube) and openchange (SoGo) webmail installed.  Everyting except Roundcube is working perfectly.  Roundcube gives the error "connection to storage failed" , under the login window.   The error log shows:

"IMAP Error: Login failed for john from 127.0.0.1(X-Forwarded-For: 127.0.0.1). LOGIN: Plaintext authentication not allowed without SSL/TLS, but your client did it anyway. If anyone was listening, the password was exposed. in /usr/share/roundcube/program/lib/Roundcube/rcube_imap.php on line 184 (POST /webmail/?_task=login&_action=login"

There are also numerous PHP errors saying failure to load plugins related to contacts and calenders and also:

PHP Error: Failed to load plugin file /var/lib/roundcube/plugins/zentyal_oc_login/zentyal_oc_login.php in /usr/share/roundcube/program/lib/Roundcube/rcube_plugin_api.php on line 223 (POST /webmail/?_task=login&_action=login)

I have checked that   innodb=on    In /etc/mysql/conf.d/zentyal.cnf
Also I have deleted the roundcube SQL database and re installed the roundcube module.

Any ideas as to how to fix the problem?

Installation and Upgrades / OpenVpn ip numbers
« on: February 12, 2013, 10:57:13 am »
Hi,
I have linux only clients connecting to a linux server all using openvpn. I am using 192.168.160.0/24 addresses for the clients. I am trying to allocate fixed ip numbers to each client.
Does each connection need 2 ips i.e.
192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.3
192.168.1.4 and 192.168.1.5
192.168.1.6 and 192.168.1.7
....... etc
i.e I can connect a max of approx 126 clients ?

Or is one IP sufficient for each client?

When I look at my server-ipp.txt file it says that .2 and .3 are allocated to the first connection and that .4 is allocated to the second connection.

Thanks
Jodel

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Add new user to admin group
« on: December 28, 2012, 10:12:48 pm »
Thanks.  I have created  a user and given him sudo privileges on the server all at the command line.  I then made him a member of all the same groups as the user created during the install.  Now the login to the web admin page works perfectly.  My mistake was thinking that I could do it from within the web interface.

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED] Add new user to admin group
« on: December 28, 2012, 06:48:44 pm »
After a fresh install of 3.0 I want to add a new user and give that user the same rights as the user created during the install.  However, there are no groups visible in the users and groups Groups page.  I assume there is an admin group that the primary user created during the install is a member of?   If so, how do I find it and add a user to it?  If not how do I do it?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Dnsmasq v Bind

Thanks for your reply.  I have never tried working with Zentyal hooks before.  If I write a suitable nsupdate script, what zentyal file do I add it to, so that it runs when a VPN client connects?

By way of clarification, each client connecting can have a host name of say host1, host2, host3, etc.  I intend to name each vpn connection the same, so that when say host3 connects its vpn connection name will be host3.  The vpn server on the Zentyal allocates an IP of say, 192.168.160.6 to host3.
How can Bind be made aware of the IPs that the VPN server is allocating to clients?? I want to ssh to host3 without having to manually check what IP it has been allocated.
Dnsmasq deals with this in a simple fashion as it can check both the hosts file and any other file for lists of hosts and IPs and resolve accordingly.

Thnks for the reply.  The reason I want dnsmasq is that I will have up lots of external PCs connecting to the Zentyal server by VPN.  Dnsmasq can check both the hosts file and the file that records the host name and ip of the the logged in vpn client PCs.  That will enable me to ssh to the external PCs by host name.
I am not aware of any simple way of doing the same using Bind.  If there was a simple way of getting bind to resolve the ips of the connected vpn clients by vpn connection name (which I can set to host name) then that would be perfect.
The external PCs are only rsyncing a file from the server and do not need normal user accounts
I am using Zentyal mainly because of the ease with which its sets up VPN.  Kerberos is not necessary for me (I think!)

Installation and Upgrades / Dnsmasq v Bind
« on: December 27, 2012, 02:44:06 pm »
Hi,
I need to use Dnsmasq on a Zentyal 3 server.  However it seems that Zentyal needs Bind running for Users and Groups to work.  What is the best way of resolving this?
Can Zentyal be configured to use Dnsmasq instead of Bind?

Installation and Upgrades / Resolve VPN client hostnames
« on: October 26, 2012, 11:11:48 pm »
I have a number of VPN clients connecting to a Zentyal 3.0 server.  They appear in the Dashboard widget with their common name and ip addresses in the default 196.168.160.0/24  format.  The Server itself has a 192.168.1.20 address.
How can I set up the DNS on the server so that I can ping ssh etc., and connect to the Clients by name, from the server.  rather than by IP address.  The DNS server is up and running but it does not resolve the host names on the VPN.
Thanks,
Jodel

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Master and Slave Ldap
« on: April 05, 2010, 12:17:26 am »
Solved!

When I typed in the password as opposed to cut and paste it worked perfectly.
Even though the cut and paste into a text editor looked fine for some reason the cut and paste between browser windows must be bringing more than the password characters with it.

Installation and Upgrades / Master and Slave Ldap
« on: April 04, 2010, 09:52:34 pm »
Hi,
I am trying to set up 1.4 in master and slave mode.  I have the master on an old pc on the network.  It seem to be set up ok. Ldap is browsable and the one user set up is there. This was set up using the 1.4 iso.

As a slave I downloaded an image for virtualbox and I have this running.  However when I try to set it up in slave mode I cannot set up the ldap DN as the box is grayed and uneditable.  It contains various dc= settings but these are not the same as the master.  I presume they should be?
When I try to activate users and groups module I get an error that
"Failed to enable: Can't connect to master eBox at 192.168.1.50 with the provided LDAP password"
I have the correct ip for the master and I have cut and pasted the password.
Any advise on how I could solve this problem would be appreciated.

Hi,
I need to have eGroupware-1.6.002 to resolve some bugs that were in the previous version.  When will it be included in Ebox?
