Hello cpunchin,

Thanks for the step by step report!.

We will reproduce this test today and dig further into this. In the meanwhile I will keep you posted about the progress/advances.

After the update still got issues... I did a clean install, but same.

The first outlook client connected fine (but I got a bunch of Synch Log errors)

 23:24:07 Error in folder 'Conflicts'
[...]

Hello,

If you performed a clean install, then you also need to create Outlook profiles again to sanitize the cached mode data and prevent Outlook to use mismatching sync data or recreating root folder (as exposed in the logs you provided).

Therefore the problem you encounter is unrelated to the issue you exposed in the first place. It surely requires some additional sanity checks in the fxics code along with potential provisioning changes to make sure Outlook understands this is a different server and therefore discard the existing info or warn the user. However one bug at the time.

In the meanwhile, shall I ask you to perform a new test with fresh Outlook profiles? You should not hit the last issue again and we will be able to confirm whether the sharing bug is fixed or not.

I will schedule some tasks related to information gathering (logs, dump) so we can retrieve more advanced data set and use the collected information to  investigate issues in-depth and to provide better hotfix, defensive code, sanity checks etc. I will keep you posted to this regards, hopefully on short (reasonable) notice.

Br,
Julien.

Shall I do an dist-update from my existing 3.3 or a full dist-upgrade from 3.2 ?

apt-get upgrade from existing 3.3 should be enough.

Hi Gilberto,

As you are referring to different issues: failure with multi-OU while initially reporting about OpenChange, can you try with an OpenChange user from the default OU instead so we can close this ticket?

The multi-OU issue will be handled either in a different thread or preferably through a trac ticket directly.

Best Regards,
Julien.

There are some outstanding quirks of samba and being such a bleeding edge version (4.1 RC2?) I am not sure if its a matter of waiting for 4.1.

I have found some bugs, aphids and various other nigggles but I don't like to flood trac with items that you are working on.

Is there a current working list or would it be good for the community to post a thread on 3.2 raw areas?

See if we have the same problems before forwarding to trac?

Not at the moment, at least not in the way you consider it.

We are in the process of working this out but I can't make yet any promise with regards to the publication date.

Right now, trac is your better option. Not the best and not user level oriented, but presumably the most accurate.

Best Regards,
Julien.

Hi Bretonwoods,

3.2 is the stable release and all the fix we are currently working on or providing are applied to 3.2 branch.

The 3.3 branch is at the moment only used for Zentyal OpenChange related work, fixes and new development with regards to 3.3 release.

Therefore, Zentyal Server 3.2 is the way to go atm.

Julien.

I also found another regarding the webmail synch issues

http://sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=2285

Hello,

We are by the way not affected by this bug because Zentyal Webmail is directly fetching, creating and editing contacts through OpenChange server using PHP bindings.

Best Regards,
Julien

Thanks for updating the ticket.

We will check whether we miss the SOGo update and if the fix is working and get back to you asap.

Best Regards,
Julien.

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this issue. The problem shall only be a lack of postfix rewriting rules but we need to reproduce it locally to confirm or not and provide hotfix.

I'll keep you posted.

Best Regards,
Julien.

Hi Gilberto,

I'll check with the Q/A team if we schedule a time to reproduce your scenario locally.

Any information you could send (privately or directly appended to this thread) that would help us reproduce your environment, steps and moves would be really appreciated. You alreayd provided several information, I just want to make sure that there is no missing steps or anything.

Best Regards,
Julien.

Hello,

When logging in to webmail i can see the appointment in the calendar but when i try to look at the contacts i can access the global adressbook but not the contacts, it gives an server error, no further error messages.

Can you provide me the server error - and preferably open a trac ticket - so we can check up on this?

Also, is it possible to connect to openchange with the iphone/ipad exchange account?
I have not been able to do so.

This is not possible at the moment because Zentyal OpenChange does not provide support for Exchange Active Sync directly.

There are some solutions out there, but we would need to review them and eventually write an article on http://labs.zentyal.org to cover this aspect properly.

Best Regards,
Julien.

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback.

I recently learned that Zentyal 3.3 had Openchange so I decided to give it a shot. Installation was flawless (waaaay faster than Sogo), however, the sharing bug was still there...  :( Let's hope the next update has that bug fixed since Sogo already fixed it (haven't tested it yet)

OK, so if the problem has been fixed on SOGo, then you can presumably expect an update of the SOGo package in Zentyal to fix it too. We are working closely with the SOGo people, so I'll push this forward and look for the reference ticket to find when the fix was committed. If you happen to have the ticket number you are referring in mind, sharing it would be appreciated ;-)

The next step will be to integrate this test to our Q/A automated process and ensure we do not have any regression with this in the future.

Another thing I've also noticed was that the appointments and contacts created on Outlook replicate to RoundCube Webmail, but not vice-versa (appointments created on RoundCube never land on Outlook).

Are you sure you synchronized Microsoft Outlook calendar (Shift-F9)? At the moment, there is no notifications triggered to Outlook when an appointment is created - for example - through Roundcube. Therefore, it is required to click Send&Receive and in some cases, even wait a bit longer at the moment.

Best Regards,
Julien.

Hello all....

I tried used Zentyal 3.3 and Openchange in a fresh installation...
The system work pretty well... But when I tried add some user, I'm able to see the user in the Samba4 base using pdbedit -L but not in the webinterface... Like the image I send...

Some one have the same issu???

Thanks

Hi Gilberto,

I am a similar 3.3 Zentyal server (3.2 upgraded) and I am not able to reproduce the issue you encounter.

I have tried adding users through:
  • Web interface
  • Command-Line with samba-tool utility

In both cases users appear properly in the web interface and can be managed from there. If you add the user directly through the command-line as in the example below, does it show up in the interface?

Code: [Select]
# samba-tool user add foobar --surname=Bar --given-name=Foo --mial-address=foobar@zentyal-domain.lan --description="John Doe of Unix World"

Finally, can you double check your 3.3 system is up to date:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Kind Regards,
Julien

Hi All,

Sorry for the long delay, the week has just been very intense here with the Zentyal Summit.

Long story, short: Christian is right. The repository contrib is actually a code repository, not a package one. Therefore if you are looking for the modules we dropped from the edition, you will have to compile them.

Cheers,
Julien.
