Installation and Upgrades / Local hostname ip address
« on: December 28, 2013, 02:50:33 pm »
After installing Zentyal 3.3, I checked the module for File Sharing etc and it said that I need to set the ip address for local hostname. It's possible that I missed setting it on the initial installation. How do I set it now, preferably using the Dashboard etc (i.e. not by CLI)?

Installation and Upgrades / zentyal-dsktop package
« on: January 22, 2011, 05:27:28 pm »
I've tried to follow the the instructions for this package at:
http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Document/Documentation/ZentyalDesktop/Ubuntu
without success.

Should the user defined to Zentyal Server in ldap settings be created as a new user within Ubuntu Desktop 10.04.1? has anybody had success with zentyal-desktop 0.4?

I'm new to Zentyal. I'm using latest Zentyal 2.0.15 with all software updates installed. I have both Zentyal & Ubuntu Desktop 10.04.1 installed as VMs using Virtualbox. Zentyal has eth1 connected as NAT network adapter (in effect to external WAN) and eth0 as Internal Network network adapter (ip 192.168.3.1 with mask of 255.255.255.0). This is same as I used on a working SME Server setup. Network & DHCP are installed and operating (i.e. ticked on appropriate lines under direct Module Status). However, on the Dashboard the Module Status is shown as stopped and clicking Start does not change this. Ubuntu is not being granted an ip lease on the internal network. DHCP (under Infrastructure) has correct Interface IP Address, Subnet & Available Range.

Installation and Upgrades / Virtualbox Guest Additions
« on: January 14, 2011, 04:53:02 pm »
Installed Zentyal 2.0.3 successfully in Virtualbox. I selected the 'Install Guest Additions' under Virtualbox Devices menu with Zentyal running as a VM, which should mount the Guest Additions .iso. However, there is no cdrom directory in /media (of the running Zentyal). When I installed Guest Additions for a Ubuntu VM, there was no problem i.e. it showed the Guest Additions .iso under /media/cdrom and I was able to run the Guest Additions .run (in the .iso) to compile & install the appropriate kernel module (after installing dkms, gcc & linux-headers-($uname -r)). Any ideas why there is no /media/cdrom directory or where the .iso is mounted to?

Installation and Upgrades / Authentication failure when using ldap
« on: January 14, 2011, 02:06:38 pm »
I'm new to Zentyal. I've been following the guide at
http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Document/Documentation/ZentyalDesktop/Ubuntu
on using zentyal-desktop for my Ubuntu 10.04.1 machine (fully up to date with zentyal-desktop 0.4 installed from the Launchpad ppa). I'm using latest Zentyal 2.0.3 with all software updates installed. I have both Zentyal & Ubuntu installed as VMs using Virtualbox. Zentyal has eth0 connected as NAT network adapter (in effect to external WAN) and eth1 as Internal Network network adapter (ip 192.168.3.1 with mask of 255.255.255.0). This is same as I used on a working SME Server setup. dhcp is installed and operating.

I've got users & Groups installed & operating. I've created a new user 'tester' in Zentyal. The guide says that 'Enable PAM' is only required for Roaming Profiles which I'm not using. I'm getting 'authentication failure' on Ubuntu when selecting other user & keying in tester & the appropriate password (used in Zentyal). Help please!
