Problem with DNS resolve in the ubuntu System.
Change nameserver-IP in /etc/resolv.conf to the Zentyal-Server-LH-IP (127.0.0.1) may help.

habe es selbst rausgefunden. Wie steht hier für Zentyal 2.0 und muss für Zentyal 3.0
entsprechend adaptiert werden - ohnne Gewähr, bei mir hat es geklappt:

Hallo,
ich möchte mich in der Konsole beim mysql-server einloggen und habe diverse
user/pw Kombinationen versucht (user: root / "adminname" / "usernamen" mit pw: kein pw, pw aus /var/lib/zentyal/conf/zentyal-mysql.passwd, adminpw).
Irgendwie stehe ich auf dem Schlauch.
Wer hat den zündenden Hinweis?
Danke im Voraus, pocetrus.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Starting modules stops after upgdating vom clean 3.0 to 3.0.1

I installed now from scratch on a new HD on the same machine. For the first time the update worked now,
as long as I shutdown the server from the zentyal desktop.
When I shutdown via firefox-administration System>Halt/Reboot, there is done no clean shutdown,
system hangs after a while, and the points under Zentyal-Logo stopped moving.
I have to power off by pressing the hardware switch a while, but it starts up instantly after this.
Doing so 3 - 4 times then will occure the bug explaind in the top-posting.
Any ideas where I should look in the logs or elsewhere to help solve this?

after doing this, boot process is shorter and after logon, Zentyal administration (Firefox)
is "unable to connect to localhost". Looking at /var/log/zentyal/zentyal.log shows, that

I give myself a reply because I found the mistake after an hour of searching in various log-files and googeling.
Hope it is the right correction, but it works for me and I hope, for some of you too:
There is a file:
/etc/mysql/conf.d/zentyal.cnf
In this file there is a line:
innodb = off
This has to be set to on - for roundcube!
innodb = on
After you have done this, restart the service mysql on admin-console:
service mysql restart
Webmail works now like it has done before in Zentyal 2.2.
Best regards to the programmers, Zentyal is a great "machine".

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED] 3.0 Webmail Roundcube cannot reach DB

I have a clean install of Zentyal 3.0.
After setup I can reach the EMails from some Clients on Win7-Machines but not via Webmail.
The page in the browser shows:
Database error: Connection Failed!
Unable to connect to the database!
service mysql and the mailserver are running correctly.
Any Ideas?

Have same problem, a long time - but today, adding a previous deleted printer once again with the same name I get an error-massege having ebox-debug-mode set to yes.
it seems to me the deleted printer was not deleted correctly?

Installation and Upgrades / Problem with more than 1 printer

I did a new clean install of ebox 1.2.2 today. There is still a problem with printers since 0.12 I think.
1 printer works fine. From the second on when saving the configuration gives me the message:
" Some modules reported error when saving changes . More information on the logs in /var/log/ebox/ Parameter 'JobOffset' does not exist".
In ebox.log I found an entry:
"DEBUG> Printers.pm:1106 EBox::Printers::_setDriverOptionsToFile - Parameter 'JobOffset' does not exist"
If I setup more printers no one works. If I delete all but the first printers this one works, but in the List Users->UserX->Printers (access-list) one of the deleted printers remains, the others are gone.
Any Idea what to do?

I use it on different locations.
One feature I really miss is to show the servers name in big letters in the headline
or easy change the background or bar-color.
It will help prevent from changing settings on the wrong server when they are
all together open in several tabs in the browser.

Ubuntu 9.04 server + Ebox-version 1.3.3
I had the same problem too.
I set a password for the ldap in the ebox installation.
Then activating "Users and groups" shows this error.
I had to set the same Password under eBox-menu -> users -> modes.
Then it works fine.

Hi,
after changing the 'printer details' to another driver, my printer disappears from the
manage-printer-list. So it is the only one I have installed, the menue-entry 'manage printer'
also disappears and I am not able to change settings of this printer anymore.
When I tried to setup same printer once again, there is a name-conflict because of an
existing printer with the former name, but there is still no possibility to manage this printer.
Looking under 'Users - Edit users - user1 > edit' this printer is still in the list.
I repeated this behavior 4 times with different names - now I have 4 printers in the 'user-list',
but non in the Manage-printer-list.
Any idea?

Now, about 8 weeks after migrating my server to ubuntu 8.10 + EBox (8.04 has some weakness doing special RAID constellation) + Dovecot + Getmail, I am very happy with the EBox-solution. Works great.
One little (cosmetic) point I noticed:
On the Summary -> Status Page -> Section - Mail: POP3 and IMAP services are shown as "Stopped" althougt they are runnig both.
When I tested the system before changing to dovecot this fields showed correct entries.

instead of .../mailfilter/... .
Now I can go on with testing around and setups and in a few days migrating my server.
