Title: New Zentyal 2.0-4 installer released (stable)
Post by: J. A. Calvo on July 03, 2011, 08:28:43 pm
Hi Zentyal users,

The Zentyal Development Team has published a new compilation of all the latest stable Zentyal packages as well as the last system updates from Ubuntu.

As you may already know, the installer comes in two flavours, for 32 and 64bit machines. You can download both versions from the Downloads (http://www.zentyal.org/downloads) page.

The new installer comes with a new default partitioning layout to prevent fast filling of the root partition. Naturally you can still use the expert mode to define your custom partitions layout.

Remember that if you already have installed Zentyal server, you don't need this installer to update to the lastest vesion of the packages. Simply go to the Zentyal web interface / Software Management page and download the updates if you haven't done this yet.

There should be links to the change logs and what's new in each release. I don't seem to see any.

The only change is this:

"The new installer comes with a new default partitioning layout to prevent fast filling of the root partition."

Of course it includes the last packages availables (zentyal ones and also system updates from Ubuntu), to avoid users installing with the old 2.0-3 to download lots of packages from Internet.

But if you refer to the changes in the Zentyal packages that are being published from time to time, you can find them on our SVN repository, a couple of examples here for the firewall and network modules:

http://trac.zentyal.org/browser/branches/2.0/client/firewall/ChangeLog
http://trac.zentyal.org/browser/branches/2.0/client/network/ChangeLog

The changes under the HEAD sections are the ones which are not yet released.
