Following is topology,

External System (makes request)
     |
     |
     |
router (Static IP given by ISP )
     |
     |
     |
Zentyal ( External system able to access resources in this system)
     |
     |
     |
System A (IP assigned by Zentyal DHCP)
   

In above topology how can External System can access web application hosted in System A( Running Apache 2). Is any one have idea ?

Installation and Upgrades / Unable login with ssh from zentyal server to LAN systems

I'm unable to login with ssh from zentyal server to LAN connected systems, but I'm able connect via ssh to zentyal server from LAN systems. I've checked firewall, there is no restrictions for ssh.Following are out for various commands,

Installation and Upgrades / Traffic Shaping have effect or not ?

Hi,We have 15 Mbps internet connectivity,from we weeks onwards its taking lot of time to open site.So,I thought it would be better to use 'Traffic Shaping' feature in Zentyal.

Before configuration is as shown in below figure http://i.imgur.com/aOk1Lsn.png

After this change I don't observe any improvement in by network bandwidth,is I configured correctly ? I want to use my ISP providing bandwidth maximum(15 Mbps) and how to confirm that Traffic Shaping have effect ?

Using Zentyal mail server I'm able to send emails to my zentyal domain as well as other domains like gmail, ymail and etc. Is it possible to stop sending emails to other domains ?

I'm using Zentyal 3.0, able to configure email server and working everything fine. I want to take backup of emails and want to monitor the emails also, I've tried to find email location given in dovecot.conf file as

"mail_location = maildir:/var/vmail/%$ mail_home     = /var/vmail/sieve/%d/%u "

but there nothing I found. How can I take backup of emails and can monitor the emails other than the logs which is showing in Logs tab ?

Installation and Upgrades / Thunderbird like tools taking system time rather than server time

I'm using Thunderbird in client for email setup, the problem with this is, it taking its own system time rather than server time while sending the emails, due to this some times if client changes his system time, at other side who is receiving the email are listed in wrong order with future dates. I'm using NTP, I think client system are not sync with server's NTP. Any how to make, when user sending email it must take time of server not of client system ?

Installation and Upgrades / How to flush DNS cache

Few months back I've assigned one IP address to a name in internal DNS of Zentyal 3.0 for testing purpose and deleted immediately after 2 days once testing has finished but still I'm able to access that IP assigned system with that name which I've given at the time of testing.What might be the reason ? is it due to DNS cache ? if so, how to flush it without effecting to other settings.

Installation and Upgrades / Getting trouble with HTTP Proxy Filters

In Zentyal 3.0,when I'm trying for "category filter" then HTTP Proxy is getting down (i,e. status is "stopped" ), whenever I'm removing shallalist file then Proxy working fine, Now currently there is no category filter files in my "category list" even though categories are showing in "profile filters", what might be the wrong, I've downloaded shallalist file from here http://www.shallalist.de/Downloads/shallalist.tar.gz .

  I've rebooted the system,given sudo zentyal squid restart the command in terminal but no use. I want category filter mechanism .

In Zentyal 3.0, User's are unable to reset the password from user corner,after resetting the password,system is giving the "successfully updated" message also,but password remains old one only, what might be the issue, Core version is 3.0.6.

I've tried to change zentyal admin password (pwd) in Zentyal 2.2 from GUI console ( in menu system->General),I've given new pwd,system also shown "pwd updated successfully" message but still (after few reboots also)  old pwd itself working to logon,is there any other approach to change the pwd of the zentyal admin. Please suggest a method which is applicable for both 2.2 and 3.0.

 In zentyal 3.0 I've few doubts ,I've searched for answers in google but not found effective answers ( might be my searching strategies not that much effective  ) So, raised question here,

   1) What is the main difference between RADIUS server and Captive Portal,how can I use both.

   2) Zentyal providing Zarafa & Web mail, what is the main reason providing two similar ( because we can replace web mail completely with Zarafa,I think    ) softwares . If I enable these two softwares will it leads to any configuration issues ?

Installation and Upgrades / [solved] Client "localhost" is pointing to server web root directory

when I gave "localhost" in client browser then it showing 'index.html which is located at root directory of web server (of server) ', what might the reason ?
   
   I checked by "nslookup localhost" in client system,it is pointing to 127.0.0.1,I've also checked /etc/hosts & /etc/hostnames, everything is pointing to client system only but its behavior is different when giving in browser.

In Zentyal 3.0, client system hostnames are unable to resolve by the DNS server.My server name is msserver01 and domain name is msserver01.lan (nothing confusion these details are correct but looks strange  ),DNS module in "enable" state only.When I give "msserver01" or "msserver01.msserver01.lan" in client browser I'm able to access default index.html of the server. Similarly I added new record in "hostnames" in DNS  module with 'system01" and IP as "192.168.6.2",but unable to access these host from other clients,using IP I'm able to access.

       Basically I went with DHCP fixed addressing mechanism( using MAC) I thought it might be reason for above issue,So tried with "Range" concept also but result is failed in this case also.

           What might the reason ?

      Sorry to interrupt you,I've read each and every post relating to explicit proxy setup,even though I'm not able to configure correctly,So,I'm posting everything what I've configured still now,if everything goes fine then I'll upload a video relating this

server name: msserver01.lan,its eth1(internal interface) ip is 192.168.6.1,clients range 192.168.6.2-192.168.6.30

Currently one client is there connected to server who's name is system01.desktop ip is 192.168.6.5(assigned by DHCP)

 I've default entry in DNS,with domain name as "msserver01.lan" in that I've given "wpad" in "hostname tab" and "192.168.6.1" in "ip address tab".

Doubt: There was another entry in hostnames tab as "system10.desktop.lan" with "IP" as "192.168.6.5",now I deleted it,even though in my client system when I give "system10.desktop.lan" I'm able to  access index.html file,how ? I've cleared browser history also.
