Hello jbahillo:

If you mean an admin user in the domain - no - it was a standard user.

If you mean on the Win 7 computer - yes - the user was a local computer admin.

I see your point. So if the user is an admin user on local computer, that means he is also a domain admin?

**UPDATE**

Just tested now; logged in with standard user on win 7 pc (user only on the domain, not local pc), and it cannot modify other users!!
So far so good.

Thanks

Thank you guys for your responses!

I sorted out my issue with this:

sudo adduser webadmin2
psswrd userspassword
sudo adduser webadmin2 sudo

It did it for me; as I needed to have 2 admins for the webadmin, meaning they were also admins on the linux system.

Domain administration is something im very familiar with, however I found a bug/flaw (if so) that if you create a non-admin user on Zentyal, then that user logs in a Win 7 with RSAT, he can create a user in the domain admins group and then login as that user, thus making himself a domain admin!!
In Active Directory (Windows domain) that would not be possible.

Does anyone have more experience with working with domain using Zentyal!!

:D

Hello dear!!!

Have Zentyal 3.5 all good as a domain controler! however I need to assign a tecnitian/junior to help with creating users and such;
Is it possible to create another administrative user for Zentyal??? I looked but cannot find it!!! :(
Idealy he would not have to be in the domain admin group, should be some like a power user.

Could create a user using RSAT for Win 7 and assign such needed permissions that way? I´m already using it to create GPO.

THANK YOU FOR ANY INPUT!!!
PLEASE SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE!!!

Installation and Upgrades / Use zentyal as router
« on: August 06, 2014, 03:37:09 am »
Hello dears!!  :D

I´m relatively new to our friend orange and green, however a big fun.
Is it possible to use it as a router? Just wanted to clarify it.
Because I need to have two separate networks (students|teachers) and hand out IPs from Zentyal as DHCP;
I wish I could plug internal interface to trunk port on cisco switch and hand out IPs to my two deifferent neworks! Am I dreaming???

Thank you enourmously for any SUGESTIONS or whatsoever!!!  :)

Portuguese / Bloquear Serviços de Torrent
« on: June 03, 2014, 09:25:24 pm »
Boa Tarde,

Obrigado.
