Installation and Upgrades / [solved] kerberos-login faulty?
« on: February 18, 2014, 02:25:34 pm »
Hello,
I _once_ logged in to my local Win-7-client using the Kerberos System by the local Zentyal server.
Later, I found a local user was created on the harddisk of the Win-7-client; which is not what I wanted to do.
Thus, I simply deleted the c:\users\<username> directory and all its subdirectories.
Maybe that was a mistake.  :-(

Now, everytime I try to login as "any kerberos user from the zentyal server" on the Win-7-client, I get the error:
"You were logged on with a temporary profile".

I already deleted all registry keys in HKLM\SW\MS\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList  - this does not help me in any way, the error still persists: I can log in on the client, but I am always assigned a temporary profile.    :-\

I also installed the Microsoft RSAT Tools on the Win7 client, but they refuse to connect to the Zentyal server.

Any advice of just what to do to get my normal Kerberos login back?
At the moment, "klist" only says:

C:\Users\TEMP>klist
Aktuelle Anmelde-ID ist 0:0x75465c
Zwischengespeicherte Tickets: (0)

So, no kerberos-tickets for me, for some unknown reason.
Any advice of just what to do to get a normal, working, kerberos login, is appreciated!

Hello,

Today, I cannot log in to Webmail. Trying to do so, I get the error:

"DATABASE ERROR: CONNECTION FAILED!

Unable to connect to the database!
Please contact your server-administrator."

From the logfile /var/log/roundcube:

Hello,
I told Zentyal to ask for a passphrase for the crypted drive since he installed himself to a crypted drive.
fdisk looks like this:

Quote
Disk /dev/sda: 499.6 GB, 499558383616 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60734 cylinders, total 975699968 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00006ecf

   Device Boot      Start         End      Blocks   Id  System
/dev/sda1   *        2048      499711      248832   83  Linux
/dev/sda2          501758   975697919   487598081    5  Extended
Partition 2 does not start on physical sector boundary.
/dev/sda5          501760   975697919   487598080   83  Linux

I decided to use about 113 GB for the main system:

 df -h
Filesystem                  Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/srv01--vg-root  113G  2,3G  105G   3% /

Now, where are the other unused (500GB-113GB) from the drive gone to, and how can I use them, manually?
I would love to add another crypted partition in that space somehwere (crypted with some other passphrase and other crypt mechanism). Is that possible, and if so, how to do it ?

German / email gehen entweder nach aussen oder nach innen aber nicht beides
« on: February 12, 2014, 04:53:40 pm »
Folgendes:

Irgendwelche tips ?

Hello,

Finally, Zentyal fetches my mail from external accounts and puts it to some internal account. Hooray!
But, answering these mails, something goes wrong when sending these mails.

Here is the error log:

Any advice of what to do to get rid of these errors and send some mail ?

Hello,
Finally, I reinstalled Zentyal 3.3 to a server board (Microsystem, Dual Xeon, .... LSI Megaraid Raid system).

I was selecting "encrypt partition with password" since it contains sensitive information.
However, that was also the problem, because the boot loader switches to Graphics mode (VGA) and thus I cannot read the prompt where I could enter the harddisk password.

Thus, my option is heretofore to edit the boot commands in the GRUB boot editor:

menuentry 'Ubuntu, with Linux 3.8.0-29-generic' --class ubuntu --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
        recordfail
*        gfxmode $linux_gfx_mode   ----------> I removed this line
        insmod gzio
        insmod part_msdos
        insmod ext2
        set root='(hd0,msdos1)'
        search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root 6190180d-bb5c-4859-8e58-7a7a23fb4d32
*        linux   /vmlinuz-3.8.0-29-generic root=/dev/mapper/srv01--vg-root ro   quiet splash $vt_handoff
        initrd  /initrd.img-3.8.0-29-generic

Also I removed the option "quiet splash" from the "linux /vmlinuz...." line.

I guess it is very un-elegant to manually edit the boot menu each time you reboot the server.    :P   ;)

Thus: Which options do I have to edit the boot menu? The file "boot/grub/grub.cfg" clearly stated: "DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE", so I will not; I'll rather have the server running at the mo.

Please let me know how to properly edit the grub boot menu in Zentyal.

Hello,
I installed Zentyal 3.3 and all updates on a HP 7800 P Quadcore. Almost all software packets were installed, with the exception of HTTPProxy, Jabber, Layer7-Filtering, Mail-Filter and Radius. All updates to all packets were installed.

Zentyal seems to run fine. Thus, I added some users: "user1" , "user2" @mydomain.lan

I can log in to the webmail interface with http://192.168.0.11/webmail - user1@mydomain.lan can log in fine, so can user2@ etc.

Everything APPEARS to be fine, but isn't. When I send a mail from user1@mydomain.lan to user2@mydomain.lan, it never arrives at user2's mail box. At least that's what it is looking like when I log in to webmail as "user2". Same for user1. No matter how many mails I send from user1 to user2 and vice versa, they never appear in the inbox of that user. Their inbox is always empty.

What can I do? I checked for everything and I cannot find the bug. Any advice where to look for, is appreciated.

Hello,

Zentyal has the option to fetch mail from external accounts, which is exactly, what I need.
* I have a local domain and a local server srv01.localdomain.local
* several local users exist: user1, user2, user3 etc.
* all of them have external mail accounts, like office@company.com, techsupport@company.com

* Zentyal is supposed to regularily fetch these external mails, store them into some internal IMAP server so the users can use the internal IMAP server to read the external mail and respond to it.

Now the question: How do I tell the Zentyal server what the password is for fetching the external mail ??
I could not find a 'password' field anywhere.
Are the local users supposed to have the same login password for logging in locally as for fetching the external mail ?

Where does the Zentyal server store the passwords for fetching the external mail ?

Hello,
I'm sorry, but I have a strange question. (Though I am no Linux newbie, I know I'll sound like one in this special case...)
I have installed Zentyal 3.2 - Office version. I added some users (ATT1, ATT2, ATT3).
I can change the settings of my Windows 7 client to use the Zentyal domain to log in as $username - logging in over the domain works fine.
But now the troubles start...
a) Trouble 1
On the windows client I can see the network share called :
\\Zentyal\sysvol\zentyal-domain.lan\Policies\
\\Zentyal\sysvol\zentyal-domain.lan\scripts\
I can enter these dirs, but I cannot make my own directory anywhere and upload files anywhere. I guess it must have to do with permissions and access rights, but afaik I did everything right...
b) Trouble 2
I can log in as Windows 7 "zentyaluser" (ATT1,2,3) but when opening Outlook2013 , Outlook says "Cannot find Exchange Server" - though kerberos, etc.etc. is clearly running.

Any advice?
