I think that the Samba service wasn't made to be published directly to the world wide web, not only because of security issues, but also because it wasn't meant to be that way... Imagine your samba server sending NetBIOS packages over you internet connection...  :-\

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Thank's to this lovely plattform

Hi there! David here (from Portugal to).

Just wanted to let know that E-Box is my platform of choice for the corporate servers I'm called to install. It simply WORKS, its made out of good old Debian, it has all the needed things, it run on low hardware (my latest is a ex-WinNT4.0 PDC only for file serving, that now runs e-box for domain server, file server, print server, dns server, and it will be a VPN server too - this machine is JUST a PIII@800mhz with 128MB Ram and a 20GB HDD).

Honestly, thumbs wide up for all the developers, contributers, suporters, and comunity users of this full featured platform, IT ROCKS!!!!

Thank you very much / Gracias / Obrigado

Installation and Upgrades / Re: How to install webmail on ebox ?

I would advise you to install a webmail client on another server... Not that it's NOT an eBox problem, but since you are already using the eBox server to send and recieve, you shouldn't put the webmail service in another machine, just like you would distribute one's corporate services through several dedicated servers

Hi.
You could do that through VPN... Correction, you should only do it through VPN (I wouldn't advise you to open the samba server to the world wide web....)
