Installation and Upgrades / Re: Group folders
« on: May 12, 2008, 10:08:49 am »
I took a look at my group folders and they are all empty! I used winscp with login root.
All my users are part of a group! So groups exist! Shouldn't there be group folders?
When I try to login with winscp with a user, which is admin, I can't! I want teachers to be able to do this!

Oki 4300 is a network printer!
Do I need to add this printer to ebox in order to get it to work?
Couldn't I just add It to the win XP clients like described in this site?

Installation and Upgrades / eth0
« on: May 06, 2008, 12:51:00 pm »
Hi!
I had everything working fine except the DHCP server (the default gateway is the ebox machine ip and like this the clients can't get to the Internet)
So I explored a little: in the eth0 setup I marked the chekbox external.
It made me loose connection through web browser to ebox. I'm not able to login in the domain either!
Please help!!!!
Now I can i roll-back? How can I unchange this?

Yes, it helps!
But I was looking for an easier way to do that without SSH.
I want the teachers to be able to easily collect students documents (works, tests, etc) without to much trouble. Something like exploring the network, until they find what they need.
But if there is no other way....

I can only see users in the machine not in the domain.
What now?
To see the login window like the screen shot I need to change in yast --> editor /etc/sysconfig DISPLAYMANAGER_AD_INTEGRATION to yes, reboot, and there you go!
But in domain I can't see my domain, only local.

I have lots of users!!!
But it seems that the login window only lets the users login in the computer and not in the domain.
Do I need to write instead of just using the username, use domain/username???
or
change the displaymanager??? gdm or kdm

You should be able to join the domain using any account that has been marked "Admin" in eBox.
OK! I did that and I got a message saying "welcome to the domain"!
Now I want to know how do I change the login so that I can login with the domain accounts.
Something like this:

When I try to join the domain I get an error (I'm working with suse 10.3):
could not connect to server EBOX-SMB3
the username or password was not correct
connection failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
I got the password from /etc/ldap/slapd.conf
What can be wrong?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Change IP
« on: March 27, 2008, 05:25:54 pm »
It didn't work!
Here is my network diagram:
The file server is the Ebox machine.
When i changed IP I got a message saying that i might lose access to the interface, or something like that.
Changing the gateway couldn't be possible because it couldn't be found.
Is there a way to change this in the command line, in the files?
Maybe a new install will solve the problem!
