Hi,

I configured Captive portal on Zentyal 2.2.4 and all went ok. Users can login via the portal, etc. I have a question though.

1. How can I configure User/Group to have different Bandwidth Quota and Period settings? I'm not sure how to achieve this using the Captive Portal General Settings. It seems the settings are applicable to all users?
2. What happened to the user when the Period has expired? Is the connection be permanently deactivated? How can I revoke deactivated accounts so users can continue using the Internet in case we extend their Internet access? Is this possible?

Please enlighten me...

Do you mean user profile at operating systerm level?

Yes, the problem only arises whenever a client login as user on the Zentyal Domain. Zentyal Domain Admin has no problem as mentioned.

We definitely don't speak same language. I still don't understand what kind of link may exist between Zentyal and Yahoo mail except proxy authentication.

Hi Christian,

First and foremost, thank you for trying...

Remember, there are some sort of privilege/restriction implemented in User Profiles (Whether Zentyal or Linux), like you cannot install a program when you are only a User but Administrator can.

Therefore, when I'm logged in as Administrator, I have no problem using the "Attachment" function in Yahoo Mail but not with a User account.

You have to Enable Firewall Logs before getting anything.

Go to Maintenance > Logs > Configure Logs Tab > Firewall (Enable)

Sorry for this silly question but what is the link between Yahoo mail and Zentyal?

I guess, the profile has something to do with it. I noticed that the Yahoo Mail "Attached" button requires Flash Player to work properly. Maybe Flash didn't work properly when a user logs in (with USER PRIVILEGE)? I'm not sure. But when someone logs in with Administrator Account, the attached button works flawlessly.

That's the only thing I can relate the two in this case.

And BTW, what does mean "administrator account" when it comes to access Yahoo? do you mean "administrator" while authenticating for proxy access? Please tell us more about Zentyal side because I'm a bit lost.

I mean, Zentyal Administrator account.

Hi,

I have a problem whenever I attached a file on a client with a user privilege in Yahoo Mail. Whatever I do, I cannot click the attached button. All users having a User Profile have this problem. However, this is not the case with a user with Administrator privilege. You can attach a file using the same machine but you must logged in with an Administrator account.

Anyone have experienced this

Any thoughts?

It seems a problem with Apt::Cache (the perl module we use to read the status of the packages cache). Could execute "sudo apt-get update" and try again? If you get any error with that command, please paste it here. Thanks.

Hi,

I made a fresh installation of Zentyal 2.2.1 as a VM on my Proxmox 1.9 Server. Everything when fine during the installation and without any errors. After the installation, the system restarted but I noticed that the Zentyal Graphical screen keep on flashing like its refreshing a screen and the Mozilla browser moves down without me doing anything [this always happen to me, 4x by the way, everytime Zentyal was installed as virtual machine]. I tried to open Zentyal on my remote pc using its LAN IP https://192.168.1.1 but it throws an error on the browser:

Unable to connect
          Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.1.

I ssh to the new Zentyal server and was able to login successfully. I tried to restart apache

#/etc/init.d/zentyal apache restart

I switched sysctl.conf value from 0 and 1 and vice versa of the following:

net.ipv4.conf.all.accept_redirects = 1
net.ipv6.conf.all.accept_redirects = 1
net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1

But still have the ICMP redirect error and IP Forwarding. Plus how can I Start the Pluto?

Any suggestions? How can I fix these errors?
