I have the same issue. Error said:

" The computer could not be joined to the domain because of the following error. The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"

However, I can manually map shares but not join the domain.

Any clues on how to fix it?

Hi,

I want to put a web contents on my ebox .12 but don't know where to properly place it. Httpd is running and works ok.

Where is the httpd.conf file? I have 1 virtual host running on the box, I don't know where to begin.

Could you point me in the right direction please?

Hi,

I tried to install nfs on my ebox-0.11.101.

# mkdir /backups

# iptables -F
# apt-get install portmap nfs-common
# mount nfs.server.com:/home/backups /backups
mount.nfs internal error

How can I fix it?

I assume you're using xp.

You may try to enable Local Profile in your windows xp box.

I am hoping that Ebox will soon be able to have a feature like Zimbra Integration With Samba - Ubuntu Based (Similar To AD And Exchange). Ebox will be full featured domain that can match Windows 2003 AD.

Hi,

I managed to update my ebox-samba module and finally able to do some fine-tuning on my shares.

Here's how I do it in case somebody came across:

1. Add /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/juruen/ubuntu hardy main

2. #apt-get update

3. #apt-get install ebox-samba

4. In the web control center

Filesharing --> Shares --> Add New

Hi,

I installed eBox 0.11.101 and now it's running.

But after a day I've seen the new samba module. I would like to know if the new samba module is integrated to the eBox 0.11.101? If not, how can I update the module manually? What is the "exact" samba module package name?

It was mentioned that I can fine-tune the permission on my shares using the new module, but I can't see where to it is located that's I doubt it's included in eBox 0.11.101.

I think it will be nice to have a filter control on Squid Module for:
- The time and duration of the Internet access
- The name of the user, who will be allowed to make the Internet access.
- Bandwidth limit on users or group
