I can't find documentation for anything. Haha.
For something that's "community" or "developer" edition, there is almost no development documentation.

Other modules / Re: DHCP Clients Full View?
« on: October 12, 2017, 03:09:17 am »
Excuse me for my extremely delay. I've not been around for quite some time.
What I was referring to was a DHCP management console. A view where you could see all DHCP leases for all networks (or sort by network), and leasing and expiration information.
Yes. Zentyal does have a small version on its dashboard, but my installation handles 5 different internal networks. It'd be nice to be able to break them down into smaller groups.

Just realized this is in the incorrect place, if I could have a moderator please move this to feature requests.
I understand that every software has it's downfalls, and it's strengths.
Personally I love Zentyal. But it is so *expletive* difficult to secure with your own SSL that I'm about through with it.
This is supposed to be "the small business server". Why are we not using something as simple as LetsEncrypt, allowing users the ability to generate certificates instead of having them essentially break the functionality of the server just to get it secured?
To be honest, I don't think it would be that hard to implement either. I think it can easily be done with a patch update.

Installation and Upgrades / Installed Third-party SSL for Webadmin, Postfix, Dovecot, etc. WebAdmin broken..
« on: October 11, 2017, 10:18:28 pm »
So I installed LetsEncrypt certificates to everything and everything is working fine, except the web admin. All services are online, and functioning fine.
There is absolutely no documentation on allowing letsencrypt to take control over the SSL certificates (which I think is a MUST for this software), so a manual installation was done, created the certificate, imported it into Zentyal.
I have no idea where to look for error messages because this server seems to have both NGINX and Apache2, and neither are reporting errors. Unless Zentyal's admin interface uses it's own port and configuration file, which again, is not documented. I don't want to have to flash this entire server for the 3rd time today because of trying to get a legit SSL certificate on my server. Seems asinine to not include something as simple as LetsEncrypt with something like this, which prides itself on SSL and Encryption.
Anyway, I digress. Anyone have a solution to this?

Please mark this as resolved.
The issue was resolved once the entire system was rebooted. (not sure why it didn't take effect when restarting the dhcpd)

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Missing Group Policy Objects button

I've tried your suggestion.
Using RSAT to manage the GPO's. They're being created, and show as linked. But are not applying to the computers, users and groups they're assigned to. They're setup properly, but they're not applying.
Any suggestions?

Other modules / DHCP Clients Full View?
« on: June 08, 2016, 01:13:54 am »
I am using Zentyal, and the system works better than expected.
Anyway, using the DHCP module I can see that my clients are getting IP addresses from the widget (and I'm able to verify it on the client), however I can not seem to find any way to get a FULL list of all the clients that are currently issued an IP address. Does the software not come with that capability? Seems like something that should be in there, at least a list, maybe not any other fancy bells and whistles.
Can anyone direct me to where it might be, or maybe another way to get a list of my active DHCP clients?

Probably you could enable debug on /etc/zentyal/zentyal.conf, restart webadmin and then check logs agin (please note that this might reveal the user you're using credentials...
I attempted that debug option, and a new error showed up.

« on: February 17, 2016, 02:58:42 pm »I mean which DC owns the Schema Master FSMO role, as another option is to make Zentyal to own such role
Sorry, just finished my first cup of coffee. It's a Microsoft AD DC. Named PMSYRDC01, that is the master server, the secondary is 02 and the Zentyal server is named Zentyal.
I would prefer to leave the network the way it is with 2 WIN DC's and just add Zentyal as an additional controller.

Our password is in English, no special characters. The only non-alphanumerical characters in it

Which is the Schema Master in your DOmain? Are you asked for such username/password on Zentyal Openchange provision section?
The schema master should be the Administrator account for the domain. I am asked for that information. When I attempt to use that information, I am getting that same error about not entering a username/password.

jbahillo,
Thank you for your response.
There are three domain controllers. 2 Microsoft AD Servers, and Zentyal (as an additional DC).
I've tried my AD's Administrator account (in the schema admins), and I've created a custom account called Zentyal, and added that to the Schema Admins group.
Both produce the same error I posted.

This is my fourth attempt to setup a Zentyal box for our organization. I'm trying to test this out, and I can't seem to get it to work.
I have the box configured and seeing active directory, samba, file shares, etc. However when I go to setup OpenChange I get thrown all kinds of errors.
The most recent error is the following:
Now I know that I typed in a password but tried it again....and again...and yet again. After several tries, I checked the log file that was referenced in the error message.
Now to be completely honest, the above log is gibberish to me. It's not working...that's all I know.
Can anyone tell me why, and how to fix this issue?
