Title: Installing ebox with mail support
Post by: skit on May 05, 2008, 08:30:22 pm
Hello,

Here's the "deal" i have a server postfix, dovecot, apache2 with php and myqsl. I would like to know if i can install ebox just with the mail support and if i can install it with changing anything on the configs or the packages i currently have installed.

Can i install ebox like a 3rd party app ? Like installing it just as a web interface ?
I would like to use Ebox mainly for mails management :)

If you're using lastest Ubuntu 8.04, you may install ebox-mail package but it will override your postfix configuration to work with courier instead of using dovecot. LAMP installation is not modified at all. Take into account to change the eBox administration listening port from 443 if you're using that port in your apache2 installation (It will be asked in the installation process).

If you're using Debian Sarge, the same as above but apache 1.3 is used instead of apache 2.

Hope this helps.
