Installation and Upgrades / Re: saving webadmin module stuck on 100%
« on: February 09, 2023, 11:18:59 am »
I am getting this when I finished installing it. I tried restarting the service and doing dpkg --configure -a. I got it to work without changing the domain name. As soon as I change the domain name even with the fresh install it freezes at the same point.
Hardware:
AMD Ryzen 5
8GB Ram
240GB NVME M.2 (OS drive)
3TB Data drive

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Change IP address; DNS not working and pointing to old IP
« on: June 06, 2014, 03:42:36 am »
Sorry for the delay, Yes I am using DHCP on the Zentyal server. Yes - windows client and did the ipconfig /flushdns.
I noticed that the Zentyal server itself was resolving to the old address as well, which is very strange.

Installation and Upgrades / Change IP address; DNS not working and pointing to old IP
« on: May 27, 2014, 07:54:57 pm »
Good day all,
Needed to change the internal IP address. The necessary changes were made in DNS within Network and Infrastructure settings. However, clients computer are unable to do DNS resolution and unable to contact the server. It is resolving to the old IP. Also update the server to 3.2 and no luck.
Can anyone advise on what could be wrong? Otherwise, will have to reinstall.
Thanks

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Changed IP address but DNS still points to old IP address

Thanks Robb, that's the thing, in the 2 places for DNS settings within the Zentyal administration web interface, it has been change automatically. I get the feeling there is some sort conf file withing linux holding this info (and passing it out via DHCP) and probably needs to be manually changed. Also maybe a routing table needs to be changed/updated. Unless there is somewhere else that you are referring to? Also and this is strange I am getting an DHCP address from the Zentyal server and I cannot ping nor nslookup. HELP
Thanks
Thanks

Good day,
I am currently experiencing the same problem. It is affecting the Windows 7 DHCP client machines. DNS resolution goes to the old IP address. Has anyone found fix for this? I figure there should be some sort of DNS flush to do on the Zentyal Server not the Win7 clients (I've already tried it). Also, I found that if I set the Win7 PC to Static address it works properly and if I switch back to DHCP the DNS resolution is back to the old IP.
Thanks

Hi folks, does anyone have any advice?
I noticed in the OpenVPN Daemons section on the dashboard the "Client" sub section the service is disabled. Does this mean I missed something?
Thanks again

Thanks for you fast response,
I have been tinkering with DNS trying to get it work but so far no luck...
More Info
The LAN network is 192.168.0.0 and the VPN issues 192.168.160.0 getting from 192.168.160.0 to 192.168.0.0 is where I am having the issue is seems. Now what DNS change exactly should I make? on the server or my remote pc? or both or something else? I cannot ping the 192.168.0.0 network which is in the advertised networks as mentioned. My understanding is that I should be able to connect via the IP without having to use DNS.. unless I need more understanding
Thanks a mill

I am having a VPN issue where by, I am able to connect via VPN but only able to access the dashboard of the Zentayl server and also Windows Explorer. I need to access computers and services on the LAN but I cannot connect not even using the IP addresses of the computers that I wish to connect to. The LAN network is configured in Advertised Network automatically.
Zentyal Server version 2.0.23
In windows explorer I see all the machines listed on the LAN but when I click on the one I need access to or any other than the server I get Windows cannot access \\computername error code 0x80070035
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks very much.. I figured I would have to basically do over a share. I guess there is no way to see the default share that is created.
Thanks again will try it out.
