perhaps.. instead of modyfing existing os'es, there's a way to build a Zentyal Client, based on ubuntu minimal..
i've done this at home using remastersys!
does anyone have expirience with this?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Equivalent to GPOs

i guess, depending on the configuration of your systems, a lot can be achieved through scripting.. wether it be VBS or SH (depending on your os)
what we first need to establish is your OS, the current enforcements you have..
based on those, we could try and see if its, in some way or another, possibly to script it!
i'm sure one to follow this thread, as i have wondered it myself too..
i like to replace our home server with Zentyal, at some point in time

this is normal behaviour..
you could look into setting up virtual interfaces, but that is beyond community support, unless someone with more knowledge reacts

wilhat is correct..
either your interface is PPPoE, OR its static.. it can't be both.
you need to put another NIC in, and have NIC1 connect to your MODEM, and NIC2 connect to your SWITCH.
You can then set NIC1 as external, and NIC2 as internal, and THEN you can start services for NAT and gateway and such.

i *think* this is because Zentyal rewrites the config files on reboot..
try looking through the wiki about modifying stub files, thats the way to go!

if you are unsure of what you're talking about, then do some research, and ensure that you take every measure to secure your server, then you can sleep better perhaps

how about adding some form of catched credentials?
so that one can login even if the connection to the server temporarily broke down?
(because you're not in your home network or on the road or whatever)

Calvo, that seems to do the trick
i am still testing, but at least all the shares seem mounted
edit 1)
i see warnings about an unverified public key, you might want to look into that
