Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal 4.1 fetchmail config
« on: April 26, 2015, 10:00:33 am »
Hello ,
I'm using Zentyal 4.1 and retrieve external mail for a user account with Mail retrieval from external accounts.
Doing this with imaps for an @outlook.be account. All works great and i have made a virtual domain so i can send email as well.
One little problem , i would like to fetch all the folders for this account but i can't get it configured. Only the folder inbox is fetched.
Tried this : on the /etc/ebox-fetchmail.rc
-r <name> | --folder <name>
Keyword: folders
Causes a specified non-default mail folder on the mailserver (or comma-separated list of folders) to be retrieved. The syntax of the folder name is server-dependent. This option is not available under POP3, ETRN, or ODMR.
But this file ( /etc/ebox-fetchmail.rc ) get's overwritten each time the service is restarted. Also i can't get the option placed right to get this working.
Is there a work around to get all the folders from the account so i can see and use them ?
Best regards,
Project.

Ok guys just an idea :
I use the Zentyal Server @ home because it is free of charge and very handy for a lot of things. ( dhcp , dns , firewall , zarafa , file shares )
I would like to upgrade to 3.0 but rather do a clean install. The only real important data on the server are the mail storages from me and my wife.
The other configurations are simple to reproduce. Data on the shares can be copied and replaced.
My question is what do i need to backup for zarafa so i can do a reinstall & reconfigure of the server.
Way is see it is as follows :
- backup all data and mail storages
- do a clean install
- configure the new server ( dhcp , dns , users , domain , shares , firewall , zarafa )
- delete the empty storages of zarafa under the new users --> place the old storages under the new users
- replace the data on the new shares
Am i missing something or is this a valid option ?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Upgrade Zentyal 2.2 to 2.3 ( 3.0 RC2 )
« on: September 10, 2012, 08:12:44 am »
Isn't there any option ?
Do a clean install , restore users configuration and zarafa storages ? and then reconfigure the rest ?
How long will version 2.2 be supported , i could stay with it since server 10.04 is still supported till 2015

« on: September 08, 2012, 07:51:20 pm »I'm afraid you'll have to wait. Also, although we'll try to do our best, probably not all the modules will be migrated automatically, some of them have changed a lot (HTTP Proxy for example) and will require some manual configuration...

Hey Guys,
Is there a way to upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3 rc2 ?
Can i add the sources and keys from 2.3 and do a dist upgrade ? Or do i still need to wait for a script ?
If so is there a script ?
Best Regards

But shoudln't i just change the permissions for apache2 ? Being www-data ??

Ok it works, thx for the info. I will write it down for other people as well.
Please correct me if there is a better/safer way to do this. I'm still learning this stuff so.
# cd /usr/share
# service zarafa-server stop
# sudo mv /usr/share/z-push /usr/share/z-push-orig
# sudo wget https://launchpad.net/~bencer/+archive/zarafa/+files/d-push_2.0.1.orig.tar.gz
# sudo tar -zxvf d-push_2.0.1.orig.tar.gz
# sudo mv /usr/share/d-push-2.0.1/ /usr/share/z-push
# cd ..
# sudo mkdir /var/lib/z-push ( if not needed the server will say so )
# sudo mkdir /var/log/z-push ( if not needed the server will say so )
# cd /var/log
# sudo chmod 777 z-push
# cd /var/lib
# sudo chmod 777 z-push
# service zarafa-server start
That's it , works like a charm. You need to remove the accounts from your devices ( phone, pad ) and install them again.
This and the webapp made my week

If not, give a try and let us know
ok so this is not tested yet , i will not be the first one to try
then with this info , how will i be able to upgrade later this year to Zentyal 3.0 since this requires 12.04 LTS ?
- back up the whole system and do a clean install ? then put the config files back ?

Hey i have a question :
Is it possible to do a dist upgrade from 10.04 to 12.04 when Zentyal 2.2 is installed ?
I installed the Ubuntu Server 10.04 64bit LTS a year ago and then installed Zentyal on it. Works like a charm.
Now i want to dist upgrade to the 12.04 LTS server, will this break my Zentyal installation or will this have no influence ?
Please advice
