Hi, i have just upgraded a Zen6.2 server to Zen7. I has to delete the nginx certs and create news (no web admin).
Everithing is now running as expected, except for IMAP connection from thunderbird clients.
Sogo works, ActveSync works but nor IMAP.
I think the relevant part in syslog is:

Email and Groupware / [SOLVED] DKIM key does not fit in TXT record of my registrar

Hi, i have followed the manual at:
According to Hover technical support, the max lenght of the TXT record is 255 charters.
By default, opendkim-genkey should generate 1024 bit keys. This must fit in 255 charters string so i assume the manual procedure is generating a 2048 bit key.
So, the question is:
How can i replace the generated key with a shorter one and how to reconfigure dkim to use the new key and modify the DNS record added with samba-tool.
BTW, the manual is assuming that the Zentyal DNS server is authoritative for the mail domain.
In my case, i use a split DNS scenario, where the authoritative DNS server for my domain in internet is the hover DNS and for my internal network, the authoritative DNS is my zentyal server, so i asume i have to add the TXT with the key to both DNS zones.
Any help is welcome....

Other modules / [SOLVED] Zentyal to Zentyal VPN constantly dropping

Hi, i have built 2 Zentyal 6.2 servers to connect to sites. I have configured one side as server and other side as client.
I have imported the config from server to client and the VPN is established, but is dropping in 2 minutes and reconecting after 2 more minutes time out.
The VPN is closed by the server side and client restart the connection after 2m time out and so on.
When the VPN is working, when it drops, the logs in server side /var/log/openvpn/zen2zen.log shows:
2 minutes afted the link goes down, the client side restart the connection:
Btw, normal VPN from windows workstation to Zentyal server is stable, so the problem is when "Allow Zentyal to Zentyal" is selected.
Any one has dealed with this issue?

Hi, just installed a new V6,2 comunity.
There is an instalable module called "UCP" but there is no info about it in the docs.
Anyone knows what UCP module is for?
I have installed it, just for curiosity, but i can't see any difference.
There is nothing related to UCP in the dahsboard.

Installation and Upgrades / PPPOE support dropped in 4.1

The PPPOE protocol is no longer supported in 4.1.
I have succesfuly configured vlan and pppoe in ubuntu server dealing with configuration files but i can not figure out how to use it in zentyal.
Resulting network interface is not shown in web admin, to use it as wan and zentyal need a manual gateway in gateways config page.
Is it o good idea to remove PPPOE support and L2TP from a gateway?
Any idea? thx

This morning, i can´t access any of my mapped drives pointing to files shares in my Zentyal 3.3.2 server.
This happens from 2 windows 7 clients.
Everything whas working yesterdays and i have not aplied any update nor config change.
When i edit a file share in zentyal admin, i get an error on saving changes in samba module.
I also get an error when i restart samba module (service zentyal samba restart) in /var/log/zentyal/zentyal.log
I have now restored access to network shares by:
- Resetting users password
- Unmap al network drives and map them again
I still get errors in /var/log/zentyal/zentyal.log on saving samba config or restarting module:

Any idea?

Hi, i need to reinstall my zentyal 3.0 server and i have downloaded the new 3.3 image.
I use my server for file sharing and email (Zarafa).
Acconding to my readings, the new module openchange is an alternative to zarafa trasport to connect outlook.
So i need to decide one way:
1- Zarafa and outlook connector
2- RoundCube webmail and openchange with native exchange outlook connector.
If i am right, you can not have both zarafa (for webmail and zpush) and openchange for outlook.
In case 1, i have webmail, outlook and android devices connected to mail server.
In case 2, is there any way to connect mobile devices? (android)
Is there any plan to remove zarafa and use openchange?
In my testing machine, mail stops working fews minutes after boot. RoundCube and Outlook cant connect to server.
Conectivity is restored by restarting domain and file sharing module, but drops a few minutes later.

Is there any plan to remove zarafa and use openchange?
In my testing machine, mail stops working fews minutes after boot. RoundCube and Outlook cant connect to server.
Conectivity is restored by restarting domain and file sharing module, but drops a few minutes later.
I will reinstall the test server, but has sombody goods results with similar configuration?

Hi, i have just updated my zentyal 3 server and now zarafa webapp does nort work.
Zarafa webaccess still works fine, but wen i access the /webapp y get the zarafa icon and http 401 unauthorized. No logon...
Any idea where to star?
Not found this issue in Zarafa boards.

Parece que ha entrado una actualización de Bind en los repositorios de Ubuntu que genera problemas en el modulo de usuarios de Zentyal.
Esperad a aplicar esa actualización a que el equipo de zentyal publiquen una solución.

Spanish / [RESUELTO]Problema DNS

Tras una reinstalación con zentyal 3, tengo un extraño problema de DNS.
Tengo un interface externo otro interno. Al instalar, en el modulo DNS, asignó el nombre del host a la IP externa, cosa que no me conviene.
Lo cambié en la configuración del dominio, asignandole la ip privada al registro A del nombre de host.
Sin embargo, sigue resolviendo a la IP publica.
Si pido por ejemplo el MX con dig, me contesta la ip externa.
¿Alguien sabe como resolverlo? No se puede borrar el registro A ya que se usa en muchos sitios.

Spanish / Permisos/ACL de los recursos compartidos se restablecen al reiniciar

Uso algunos recursos compartidos para acceder por CICFS, pero a su vez, unas carpetas contenidas en ese recurso son usadas por una aplicación que se ejecuta bajo un usuario local del sistema. Modifico los permisos/ACL para permitir el acceso de ese usuario y todo funciona, pero al reiniciar el servidor, se vuelven a establecer los permisos/ACL originales, impidiendo el acceso al usuario de la aplicación.
¿Hay alguna forma de establecer los ACL finales que se aplican en el arranque del servicio?

Installation and Upgrades / [RESOLVED] How to recover zarafa after a server crash?

I recently surfered a server (disk) crash. I was running zentyal 2.2.
I have now installed Zentyal 3 and recovered all users data from backups. Mail server is now running, but without old mail.
I have backed up from crashed disk the /var/lib/mysql and /var/lib/zarafa folders. All files are fine except for /var/lib/mysql/ibdata1 wich has a damaged cluster (4096 bytes). I have recovered the remaining data in file with ddrescue, replacing damaged cluster with zeroes.
I have installed a virtual machine with zentyal 2.2 and mail an zarafa configured, and with same users as the creashed server.
I plan to replace the mysql and zarafa folders with those rescued from crashed disk, to access and copy old mail.
I have now replaced these folders and mysql start without any error, but zarafa dos not start and i get:

Vaticino que dada la reciente liberación de Zentyal 3.0, este año va estar muy interesante.
Los eventos son en Zaragoza y asisten miembros de la comunidad de múltiples países.

Bienvenidos al foro en castellano de Zentyal. Desde aquí puedes obtener soporte por parte de la comunidad.
Los usuarios de este foro somos voluntarios que invertimos un poco de nuestro tiempo de forma altruista para ayudar a otros usuarios. Esperamos que te unas a nosotros en la medida de tus posibilidades.
Para asegurarte que tu consulta obtiene respuestas rápidas y precisas, debes seguir algunos pasos:
1 - Documentación:
La documentación está disponible en la red. La dirección para la versión actual en castellano es

2 - Búsquedas:

Spanish / Curioso problema de permisos SMB con windows 2003

Tengo un servidor zentyal 2.2 donde tengo un recurso compartido para una aplicación. En el recurso compartido hay una carpeta con la instalacion del cliente. Hay que instalarlo desde la unidad de red mapeada a ese recurso para que la aplicación se instale bien.
He instalado el cliente en varios clientes XP sin problemas, pero al llegar a una maquina virtual Windows 2003, iniciando sesión con el mismo usuario, al intentar ejecutar el exe me dice:
Le he dado permisos totales (777) a toda la carpeta y nada.
Desde propiedades en w2k3 le he dado control total a todos y nada.
Alguien sabe que puede estar pasando?
