Oh let me add some help for total noobs like myself.

When trying to connect zentyal to an external active directory you must go the "DSN snap in" in windows server and add the zentyal machine there. The snap in can be found in control panel->administrative tools->dsn

Then under your machine name, in the forward lookup zone, i found my AD and i added a new host by right clicking on it. reverse lookup was added automatically and all worked ok.

Zentyal 4 is awesome by the way

Installation and Upgrades / ZENTYAL 4 external active directory + webmail
« on: September 18, 2014, 08:57:55 am »
I am trying to set up zentyal 4 as AD slave to my main windows server 2003, and set up openoffice. I get to connect to the existing AD and all is perfect, but when i try to enable the mail module i get this message

module mail is uncompatible with the current users operation mode (use external active directory mode)

So how can i set up openoffice? only as stand alone server?

Installation and Upgrades / zentyal 3.5 & windows server 2003
« on: July 21, 2014, 10:02:08 am »
I am looking into the possibility of having both zentyal 3.5 & windows server 2003 in our business. I want to use zentyal as firewall, proxy and mainly for its openchange feautures. My windows server will remain as a main domain controller and legacy app server.

So i want to have my current windows server users imported and synced at my new zentyal server. Will i be able to do that at the new version?

Do you know where will i be able to find resources on how to do that?

First of all i would like to thank you for your help.

I cannot do trunking / nicbonding cause my isp doesnt support it.

I used speedtest only as a test that i got 2 connections working. But as you said i should probably test multi wan more to see whether it works or not.

Thank you!

I have used multi wan linux distributions before and i did get to utilise both connection at the same time (not as one, but still use them both). I consider zentyal as an upgrade to my previous linux instalation thats why i picked it. It is very good after all. So in other words

There is no way that zentyal will make speedtest.net show higher speeds? Just load balance and wan failover? No higher speeds for torrents for example.

I have 2 adsl lines that i want to connect and share on my lan. I have already set up a zentyal machine and it looks promising. All ips are static on my network. My impression was that i could utilise both internet connections at the same time (not as a single connection).

I have set up 2 gateways as default, with weight 1 each linked to the proper eth. Balance traffic is checked. Wan failover has 2 default rules specified (ping to gateway). This is a fresh instalation.

When using speedtest.net to check my total speed i still get the total speed of only one internet connection.

What else must i do to get it working?
