Hi All,

I was poking around on the server today and noticed some e-mail to clamav dating back to March 21st that had this message in it:

Code: [Select]
sh: 1: /usr/share/zentyal-antivirus/freshclam-observer: Permission denied

I took a look at the apt history and noticed on that day, this update:

Code: [Select]
Start-Date: 2013-03-21  07:52:27
Commandline: apt-get upgrade
Upgrade: clamav:amd64 (0.97.6+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1, 0.97.7+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1), zentyal-monitor:amd64 (3.0.2, 3.0.3), clamav-base:amd64 (0.97.6+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1, 0.97.7+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1), libclamav6:amd64 (0.97.6+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1, 0.97.7+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1), zentyal-users:amd64 (3.0.12, 3.0.13), udev:amd64 (175-0ubuntu9.2, 175-0ubuntu9.3), libudev0:amd64 (175-0ubuntu9.2, 175-0ubuntu9.3), clamav-freshclam:amd64 (0.97.6+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1, 0.97.7+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1), clamav-daemon:amd64 (0.97.6+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1, 0.97.7+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1), iptables:amd64 (1.4.12-1ubuntu4+zentyal1, 1.4.12-1ubuntu5), zentyal-core:amd64 (3.0.16, 3.0.17)
End-Date: 2013-03-21  07:53:46

Is this something I should put a bug report in for or is there a quick and simple fix?

Oh, and btw:

Hi Forum,

I did an update this morning and now cannot login using gssapi.

Update info:

Install: libgssapi-perl:amd64 (0.28-1build2, automatic), libsasl2-modules-gssapi-heimdal:amd64 (2.1.25.dfsg1-3ubuntu0.1, automatic), msktutil:amd64 (0.4.2-2, automatic)
Upgrade: zentyal-network:amd64 (3.0.3, 3.0.5), zentyal-users:amd64 (3.0.13, 3.0.14), libauthen-krb5-easy-perl:amd64 (0.90-5, 0.90-6), zentyal-squid:amd64 (3.0.6, 3.0.7), zentyal-core:amd64 (3.0.17, 3.0.18)
End-Date: 2013-04-12  06:15:50

Error:
Code: [Select]
Apr 12 08:20:00 servername dovecot: imap-login: Aborted login (auth failed, 2 attempts): user=<me@DOMAIN.COM>, method=GSSAPI, rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.1.1, TLS

I can still login using plain login, but some of my clients use gssapi as well.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED]Problem with SASL Auth
« on: February 26, 2013, 04:44:49 am »
I just installed Zentyal 3 on my server (3.0.13) and am running into an interesting issue.

I can send mail fine using Thunderbird, but when I try to send using Kmail (KDE 4.10) I get an error stating that the server does not support PLAIN authentication. So, I tried LOGIN and still same issue.

The log files read:

Feb 25 20:24:16 wolfserver postfix/smtpd[25142]: warning: unknown[192.168.0.1]: SASL LOGIN authentication failed: Invalid authentication mechanism
Feb 25 20:24:16 wolfserver postfix/smtpd[25142]: lost connection after AUTH from unknown[192.168.0.1]
Feb 25 20:24:16 wolfserver postfix/smtpd[25142]: disconnect from unknown[192.168.0.1]

Again, I can send using Thunderbird, just not KMail... Is there some way to fix this? With Zentyal 2, I was able to send using any client.

Thanks!

Installation and Upgrades / NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED
« on: February 24, 2013, 04:43:12 am »
Hi All,

Just configured my Zentyal 3 server and I have everything all set up for my network. I have been using Zentyal for quite a few years and am planing on upgradeing my existing installation.

However, I have a problem that I am not accustomed to seeing.

When I try to connect to the Zentyal host from another Linux machine and to an smbclient -L hostnameofserver, I get this:

NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED

oh the server.

I have checked the firewall rules and all is open for internal networks. I have even tried using the -U option and specifying a username, but still get the error.

Here is what I am running:

Core version    3.0.13 installed from the Zentyal media I downloaded from this website and then updated.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Thanks!
Joe

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED] Renamed Server
« on: June 24, 2011, 05:20:28 pm »
Hey all,

I renamed my Zentyal server from wolfserver2 to wolfserver. Now, everything seems to work ok, but I noticed in ldap that it is still referencing the wolfserver2 name in the ldap suffix line: dc=wolfserver2

Will this cause any future issues? Is there a way to change this? Should I create a DNS and hosts entry to reflect the old name if I have to keep it like this?

Thanks!
Joe

Installation and Upgrades / Cron Run-Parts Errors
« on: May 25, 2011, 04:11:18 pm »
Hi All!

This has been going on for a long time and I have requested this to be fixed in previous posts to no avail, so I though I would start with a fresh post to revisit the situation.

I get these errors in my mailbox on a daily basis. Anyone know of a solution to them?

Code: [Select]
/etc/cron.hourly/90manageEBoxLogs:
Error doing statement: UPDATE mailfilter_smtp_traffic_hourly SET mta-blocked = mta-blocked + 1 WHERE (date = '2011-05-24 12:00:00') , ERROR:  syntax error at or near "-"
LINE 1: UPDATE mailfilter_smtp_traffic_hourly SET mta-blocked = mta-...
                                                     ^
run-parts: /etc/cron.hourly/90manageEBoxLogs exited with return code 25

This is on an updated Zentyal server.

Please let me know if you need any additional information from the server and I will provide it.

Thanks!

Installation and Upgrades / squid cache warnings in cron
« on: May 25, 2011, 04:07:19 pm »
Hey everyone!

I have been getting these warnings for a while now, but though I would chime in in case others have been seeing it too. Doesn't seem to make any difference to the operation of the server, and I don't use squid, but the messages are still there and getting annoying. If someone could help, that would be great.

Warnings I am getting are:
Code: [Select]
/etc/cron.daily/logrotate:
2011/05/25 07:35:45| WARNING cache_mem is larger than total disk cache space!

I noticed this after the upgrade on the 19th:
Code: [Select]
Start-Date: 2011-05-19  13:31:30
Upgrade: ebox-squid (2.0.6, 2.0.7)
End-Date: 2011-05-19  13:32:06

Any ideas how to make them stop? Again, I don't use squid, so maybe shutting off the module?

Please let me know if you need any additional information from the server and I will provide it.

Thanks so much!
Joe

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED]Errors from cron and NTP
« on: February 04, 2011, 08:41:51 pm »
Hey all :)

Running through my mail today, I noticed some errors in the Anacron job 'cron.daily' and the run-parts --report /etc/cron.hourly e-mails.

Are these to be conserned about or just "Normal" errors?

Anacron job 'cron.daily'
Code: [Select]
/etc/cron.daily/ebox:
Error updating data: UPDATE remoteservices_passwd_users_report SET  WHERE nusers = '5' AND date = '2011-1-01 00:00:00'
ERROR:  syntax error at or near "WHERE"
LINE 1: UPDATE remoteservices_passwd_users_report SET  WHERE nusers ...
                                                       ^
run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/ebox exited with return code 255

run-parts --report /etc/cron.hourly
Code: [Select]
/etc/cron.hourly/90manageEBoxLogs:
Use of uninitialized value $vd in exists at /usr/share/perl5/EBox/Mail.pm line 1696.
Error doing statement: UPDATE mailfilter_smtp_traffic_hourly SET mta-blocked = mta-blocked + 1 WHERE (date = '2011-02-04 05:00:00') , ERROR:  syntax error at or near "-"
LINE 1: UPDATE mailfilter_smtp_traffic_hourly SET mta-blocked = mta-...
                                                     ^
run-parts: /etc/cron.hourly/90manageEBoxLogs exited with return code 25

Also, in my syslog file, after configuring NTP, I am seeing this:
Code: [Select]
ntpd[4027]: can't open /var/lib/ntp/ntp.drift.TEMP: Permission denied

I checked the permissions on the log and ntp:ntp owns the directory, so I cant understand why it cant create a file.

Thanks so much for any help and please let me know if you need any additional log files or config files posted to aid in the troubleshooting process!

Installation and Upgrades / Zarafa question
« on: February 02, 2011, 11:47:39 pm »
Hey all!

I am evaluating Zentyal for a client who has an office of about 14 people. They already use open source tools for there back end services but was looking to upgrade to something a little more modern.

We were taking a look at the groupware applications that Zentyal have to offer and had a couple of questions.

1. Zarafa stated that you can use, for free, a 3 user license for their mail server. Is this limit for the web interface or just the MAPI connection for Outlook clients? In other words, can they use the web interface for an unlimited amount of clients?

2. Is there a way to integrate eGroupware with the server instead if using Zarafa? I did notice a PPA that was available that allowed the install of eGroupware: http://ppa.launchpad.net/zentyal/2.0-contrib/ubuntu. If this is possible, can we remove Zarafa and install eGroupware without too much trouble?

Thanks so much for any information!

Joe
