Hi,

I had the problem that after installation of Zarafa my Mails ended up in Zarafa only. They where not visibe in imap, pop, webmail but in Zarafa Webaccess they where sitting.

How it got bugged:
I had deactivated all ports in the mail module and planned to use the Zarafa ones. Later when I found out that "normal" clients had connection problems, I switched back to mail and produced the above error.

Fails: Tried to deinstall Zarafa what never succeeded. I could even still use it after it was removed from the installed software. So I reinstalled it.

Solution:
Deactivate Zarafa instead of deinstall. Problem solved.

German / Mail Relay Einstellung "Authentication"
« on: July 30, 2013, 08:40:53 am »
Moin moin,

Installation and Upgrades / Filesharing with FTP
« on: July 28, 2013, 05:20:26 pm »
Hi,

my goal is to have the filesharing also working over FTP. I need a public directory everyone can see and several group directories only a few people can see and some might need access to multiple group directories. The data is stored on a USB HD that is NTFS formatted. The users are created in Zentyal because they need to user other services (vpn, Email,...). Nothing special... I thought.

At first some solutions. I'm no pro at Linux... just using it for a few weeks so I would kindly ask everybody to correct me or give better solutions. But for a new person like me, these infos might help.

---1. install NTFS support:---
sudo apt-get install ntfs-3g

---2. mount USB HD---
sudo fdisk -l
look and see which drive it is.
then
mkdir /mnt/usbdrive
then (change the sdd1 to whatever fdisk -l showed you)
mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sdd1 /mnt/usbdrive
Source-------------

---3. activate FTP module---
Activate the FTP module in the Administration Interface at /Module Status. Also check of the firewall allows FTP traffic at all.

---4. activate PAM?---
I couldn't access the server because I received login errors with my FTP client and had to activate PAM. If you have the same problem, go to the Administration Interface and navigate to /User and Groups/LDAP Settings. "Enable PAM": Yes.

---5. link the public directory and the user directories---
Go into the shell.
ln -s DirectoryWhereYourPubIsLocatedOnUSB /hmoe/username/pub
You have to do it for every user as you might guess.

Future solutions:
---6. format USB drive with FS3 to be able to change access rights---
Not an easy task... the USB HD used is the biggest one I have and for a good reason. It's full with stuff... anyway, will have to do it.

Now... here finally comes my question:
Right now I can literally see any Admins reading this getting a heartattack. That way any FTP-User gets full directory access to my server. With its own rights but this still gives a lot of info about the servers... far too much for a user that should never be able to login to the system.

How can I improve this system?

(Hint: A button in filesharing "share through FTP too" would be a dream... but I guess it won't come anytime soon.)

Otherwise the system is just great!

Hi,

after a clean installation I can't acces the Dashboard because it wants to connect to confbackup.cloud.zentyal.com and it can't. That's because I don't want it to connect. How to get to Dashboard anyway?

And how to prevent any access to the cloud in future?

/bump

Had such a problem and tried a lot of fixes (including changes to the postfix configuration, funny dyndns stuff,...), nothing worked.

504 5.5.2 <******>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname

MIB had the solution and it was sooo easy. Thx!
