So I have an issue after upgrading to Zentyal 4.1 - SURPRISE!

In Zentyal components shows - Web Mail Service (says it's not installed)

But I can clearly use sogo. (so it is installed)

Anyway.. to try and fix it I try to install it in the Zentyal components and I can't... and then I try to install it cli... and I can't with zentyal-sogo....

So I tried to uninstall zentyal-sogo to see if it will let me install it and I get the following...

Package zentyal-sogo is not available, but is referred to by another package.

This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'zentyal-sogo' has no installation candidate

Even though I removed it.. it still works...

Okay... this is getting silly. I am starting to really dislike upgrading Zentyal... Its dumb that there are this many issues with upgrading and updating...

Can someone tell me how to get the web mail services insync with Zentyal?

Thanks,

-SF-

Hello everyone,

Now that I have upgraded to Zentyal 4.1, I was hoping someone could help me to get my website viewable external.

I know my original 4.0 Zentyal still allowed me to see my original website I had from version 3.x. showed that Zentyal had it running on something like port 62380 (or something).

I am just trying to get website up again and viewable on port 80.  I know it is running internally on my network. Because I can got to localhost/(webpage)  and it works fine.  But I can not get to it on the internet.

Thanks,

Thunderbird: Connect to OpenChange/Zentyal for pop and imap stopped after upgrade of OpenChange/Core.

Can anyone please help me know why my Thunderbird can connect to every other service it needs to... but after an update of my Zentyal I have issue connecting via pop/imap???

It has been working fine for over a year.  I have been testing everywhich way to try to setup pop or imap, but I get the same results...

Can someone verify all the needed settings for POP and IMAP between Thunderbird and OpenChange/Zentyal?

Your help is appreciated,

Thanks,

I have been running my shared Calendar on my Zentyal server just fine until just recently.  I have never had it disappear on me like it has just recently out of the blue.  Normally I just open Thunderbird, goto lightning to review my day and calendar event and it shows them via the OpenChange/Sogo with out incident.  Is it possible that the file is still on the server and is just not pointed to it anymore (and I can repoint it back to the file or data?  I was told that the data is in a MySQL database, how can it be missing like this  and not be able to be seen anymore.  I have not reset my database.  Is there a way to try a search it out?  Any help on this would be great.

Thanks,

Could someone lead me to the correct location Zentyal server where the Calendars are for OpenChange/SoGo for Zentyal?

I want to know it so I can start backing it up.

Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal 3.5 - Openchange settup error
« on: August 03, 2014, 12:38:41 am »

Finally getting a chance to install Openchange and run setup, somewhere in the middle of it's setup process Zen choked on something and never finalized the Openchange setup process.

So now when I go in to >Openchange>Setup

I have an unconfigure box to press.  When I click on the unconfigure button I get the following message above in a red filled box,

Openchange cannot be deprovisioned:
params.c:pm_process() - Processing configuration file "/etc/samba/shares.conf"
[!] Unable to unregister this server, it's being used for: primary receipt update service server, handling 2 mailboxes

So some how the file shares.conf didn't get totally cofigured.  If that is the case, and now when I press the unconfigure button in Openchange setup and it doesn't work, what can I do to get Openchange to be configured correctly at this point???

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Under - Zentyal Administration port and other reverse proxy service ports

I unchecked the Zentyal Webadmin from 443.

Now I am getting getting the following error:

"Wrong HTTP referer detected, operation cancelled for security reasons"

When trying to select items in the Dashboard - such as turning on/off modules and installing/deleting modules, as well as other things.

I can not select the Zentyal Webadmin to use 443 anymore.  It gives me the same error as above.

Any ideas what is causing the error?

Thanks,

Guys,

Does anyone know if there is a procedure to move from Mail and Webmail to OpenChange Server and OpenChange Web Mail?   Or if I can uninstall Mail and Webmail, and just install OpenChange models.  I am interested in having the groupware side of things.  At the same time I don't want to loose emails from my Mail side.  I thoght I read some where that it uses Postfix and that it will be fine to switch.  But I wanted to make sure I ask to make sure.

Thanks for your help,

So far everything is back to normal - save the users network directory on H:\  Some users show it... but when you try to access it you get "Location is not availible" windows that says "H:\  is not accessable and Access denied".  But I have check permissions and I have check to make sure the Drive Letter say H:. - no dice.   Then I have another user that I deleted and recreated that has no H: user network directory.  I am at a loss.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey Guys!

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!   I have done all the recent updates and fixed most of my issues that I have come across.  I am now finding that when I reboot the server that the UCFS module (Users, Computers and File Sharing module) stops when I reboot the server.  I don't understand why and can't figure out a fix.

Here is what I get when I turn module off, before I try to restart it.  Hope this helps:

After following the "How to make a good post" and doing and update on my Zentyal with -

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

I lost the capability of Zentyal desktop coming up.  In other words when I turn the server on it only goes to command prompt.  I believe Zentyal uses LXDE,  I am unsure of the location to configure startx or the DE to start on boot.  Can someone point me in the correct direction to getting my desktop to at startup?

may be their should be a check box in the Zentyal GUI to allow you to turn on DE at bootup or turn it off at bootup?  Maybe put it under General Configuration.  I think that would be nice for those who don't have time to be code monkeys and just want the options on this wonderful SBS.

Thanks in advance.

I reinstalled Samba, had to put all users and groups back in.. and printers and stuff.  Unfortunatly when I try to add computer to the domain I cannot see it as a computer under Users and Computers module.

Organizational Unit ZJDT1-PC already exists.
Organizational Unit ZJDT2-PC already exists.
Organizational Unit ZJDT3-PC already exists.
Organizational Unit ZJDT4-PC already exists.

How can I get the ZJDT?-PC off my computer list - even when they are invisible..

Is the a samba config file for computers that I can delete them from manually?  and rejoin them ???

Any help will be appreciated...

Thanks,

I am planning on using Zentyal as a new alternative to Windows servers for small business.  I currently setup a Zentyal 3.5 community server for a location just a test to see if it will fit the small business enviroment like I presume it can.  I have been timid to role this out until now.  It looked like alot of the bugs have been fixed from it's earlier conception.  So far Zentyal seems to be a strong package, but I have run in to a couple of items items that for production and small business can be show stoppers for a client wanting to run Zentyal as a standalone solution.

So what is the issue I have come across - Zentyal handling saving configuration of samba/ACL's

So what I am doing is setting up a share called: Installation

Setting up ACL:   Apply ACLs recursively / Group: Accounting    Permissions: Read and write

When I got through the process to save configuration I get the following information in a pop-up window:

Quote
Some modules reported error when saving changes . More information on the logs in /var/log/zentyal/

When I take a look at /var/log/zentyal/zentyal.log  I get the following:

I have already search the forums  and  I have noted 7 unaswered questions about the samba side.  Two other questions that the admin/users figured out from them selves (but didn't seem to pertain to my issue).  I hope this will not be hard to answer as to why it is happening.

I have even done the following:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

But only thing I got out of that is now Zentyal desktop doesn't come up automatically like it did (I get to this after my samba/ACL problems are gone).

Any help on this is massively appreciated.

Thanks for your help in advanced,

Jeff Davis

Is it better to Port Forward the website to public on Zentyal server or is it better to create a Packet Filter to allow people to get to your website on the Zantyal server?

What is your take on it?

Thanks,
