Because you created these objects via eBox WEBUI, which runs under user 'ebox' credentials, they have such attributes. I guess you know about it :)

It would be better if we ended up with user as the logged in user and group as ebox?
It will be more correct, imo.

I personally would glad to see some description of eBox users/groups and samba/FS objects security model.
For instance, why does we need special group __USERS__ ? (We have standard 'Domain Users')
What is Ebox's logic whet we set different permissions on FS objects, why it uses samba directives in the mix with FS attributes/ACL?

ATM i was unable to obtain proper FS permissions for my users and temporarily set up simple folders permissions where everyone is able to read and write.
So at least i'd like to know what eBox can and what it cannot do with FS objects permissions.

Hi there,

Could you take a look on /var/log/ebox/ebox.log to see what is going wrong?

Best regards,
Thank you for your reply, but after today's upgrade to 1.5.10 monitor section works fine - at least for the first look. I can't say much more because i'm trying to resolve a lot of new problems

My setup is much weaker than TS one, but i believe 2 or 3 or sometimes 5 or more minutes of waiting while page loads is too slow. But it happens not every time, about one slow page generation to 3 normal.
According to 'top', i don't see direct relation with free memory while it happens.

I'll try to find out why it happens a bit later, when i finish my initial settings.
Good advises are welcome

First a little bug (?):
I noticed that ebox-internal-backups samba share is inaccessible, because path /var/lib/ebox/conf//backups leads to folder that does not exist. Maybe this is by design, i don't know, but it looks weird.

And i need to have a few shares with a dollar sign ($) at the end of name.
Web UI doesn't allow me to do that:
Quote
The input contains invalid characters. All alphanumeric characters, plus these non alphanumeric chars: /.?&+:-@ and spaces are allowed.
Btw, nice joke about "/" and ":" in folder names :)

Where i can fix that limitation?
And also i was really surprised when webui forced me to have comments to all my shares. I'll be really happy to get rid of this.

Thanks beforehand

Installation and Upgrades / How do i get Monitor working?
« on: August 02, 2010, 10:46:26 pm »
Fresh Ebox 1.5 install
(In fact i've just reinstalled system just to see if i broke something related to monitoring)

'Monitor' section displays a message:
Quote
You must save the changes in module status to see monitor graphs in the Save changes section. In case it is already enabled you must wait for a few seconds to collect the first monitor data
'Save configuration' section:
Quote
There are no unsaved changes.

Before 1.5 install i tried 1.4 distro and if i remember correctly everything was working there.
I see collectd daemon is active in the 'top' output.

Any ideas?
